When you live out of town, it can be challenging to plan a wedding when you don’t have boots on the ground. I had the opportunity to be the “boots” for Ellie and David. This couple was so friendly and down to earth. They rolled with the punches and put so much trust in me to make their day great. Thank you for putting your faith in me! I hope you can look back on the day with lots of love, a little laughter, and loads of fond memories! I had such a blast celebrating my birthday with you!

Sadie and Tyler’s beautiful day at the Tinsmith in Madison was so elegant. The velvet green bridesmaid dresses and velvet green shoes matched the decor of the Tinsmith perfectly and added the perfect amount of warmth and elegance to a chilly fall day in Madison. One especially fun touch were these heart shaped sunglasses that made their way around the dance floor and got some really fantastic photos. Paige and Mitchell’s love story is one of the cutest ever, and their vows clearly showed the love they have for each other and the fun they have together. Plus, their adorable Cabbage Patch look-alike daughter was a trooper, coming back in jammies for late night dancing. And talk about a transformation- you would never guess that this venue is regularly a trucking and transit garage. The amount of work and time that was put into this beautiful day by friends and family was truly a testament to how wonderful this couple is. Congrats, Paige and Mitchell!

Wisconsin weather can be kind of all over the place in September, but Ashley and Conor lucked out with an absolutely gorgeous day for a rooftop wedding at the Monona Terrace. These two were such a blast to work with and definitely a pair that knows how to party. Their friends and family kept the bar busy and danced the night away with the beautiful Lake Monona as their backdrop. Also, I’m not very knowledgeable about specific flowers, but can we just take a moment to admire these gorgeous dinnerplate dahlias?! They are huge!

It’s not often that I really, genuinely compliment the groom on his attire more than the bride, but man. That green suit. These two looked absolutely stunning on their big day. Plus, as an avid Costco fan[atic], I was super excited to have Costco salted caramels as one of the main desserts, along with some delicious cobbler and ice cream. And yes, that’s me in the picture spraying whipped cream directly into the bride’s mouth. I’ll do whatever it takes.

Cora and Dave flipped the regular wedding menu on its head. The vegetarian dishes were the highlight of the spread, which you don’t see often, but it was a big hit! Plus, Cora’s smile was wide across her face the entire day! I felt like during the planning stages, there was a lot of uncertainty or skepticism, but by the time we reached wedding day, you could tell that all the fears and anxiety had melted away and this couple was just ready to have an amazing time with friends and family.

Nestled just one block off Main Street, Mount Horeb, is Martinson Hall: an old building that got a big makeover and now is home to Buck and Honey’s and this venue. And what a perfect fit for Maeci and Jake’s big day. They got some awesome retro photos on the quiet, small town streets and enjoyed a beautiful rooftop ceremony. Plus, the white tux, I mean…come on. What’s not to love?

I had never done a wedding at The Lageret before and now it might be one of my new favorite places. The place has so much character and the way it’s laid out is a planner’s dream. Each event for the day has its own space- ceremony in one room, dinner in another, dancing in another. But instead of feeling too spread out, it all feels very natural and the night flows so perfectly. Combine this with an amazing in house floral and rentals team and it’s definitely the perfect spot for couples looking for a one-stop-shop. The huge white long stem roses were so incredible and the couple’s dog, Lilo, made the perfect flower girl. They also got these awesome marquee letters that really lit up the dance space and provided a cool custom backdrop for all their dances. Thanks for trusting me with your day, Hanna and Zed, and for introducing me to The Lageret!

It’s true what they say- time flies when you’re having fun. This became more apparent when Matt and Rachel reminded me that we had been in contact for almost two years. I honestly couldn’t believe it! Matt and Rachel are some of the most fun, down-to-earth, genuine people I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. They both have some roots in Madison or attended school here, but were planning from the east coast so having someone in the area to help them plan was crucial. Their day was so beautiful; the simple but colorful wood flowers for centerpieces and a breathy ceremony arch accented the amazing venue space so perfectly. The end of the night was bittersweet for me, because I was so happy for them and their gorgeous celebration, but also sad because I knew our time together had come to an end. Luckily, the caterer accidentally packed up their cake server set, so now I obviously have to fly out to see them and return it!

If you’re thinking about having black candles or accents for your wedding but aren’t sure or don’t want it to look too dark, let this be your sign to go for it! The black candle centerpieces for Sami and Hunter’s dining tables were so elegant. And the addition of a black velvet tablecloth for the head table was the perfect touch of texture for the day. Molly and Matt called me pretty deep into their planning process and only about a month before their wedding, realizing that they wanted some help on their perfect day. I’m so glad they did. This day was filled with buckets of happy tears and a few agile dancing grandmas. At a smaller venue, like The Bur Oak, their guest list was carefully curated and their VIPs definitely showed up! My favorite part of the day though, was during set up when I noticed that Molly had carefully written the table number on the bottom of each decoration- including the table numbers. Thanks for letting me be a part of your special day, Molly and Matt! And for trusting that I can count. :)

Nestled in little East Troy, Wisconsin, Camp Kettlewood was a super unique venue for this couple’s wedding. If you’re into glamping, you must check it out. Charlie and Monica made their celebration so wonderfully personal and nailed the outdoorsy theme with animal themed table “numbers,” beautiful dried grasses, gnarled deer antlers, and shotgun shell boutonnieres. And they were such a fun couple to work with, the toasts literally had me laughing out loud, though I’d only really known them for a month. Congratulations, you two. Keep the party going.

To all the moms, grandmoms, new moms, and moms-to-be: Happy Mother's Day and thanks for always being there to share in our big moments and make memories mom-derful.

Every detail in this wedding was planned so precisely, it was seriously magical to see it all finally come together. Cara and Andrew hired me early in the planning process to help secure their vendors and design their day. It was a long process but seeing it all together on wedding day made it all worth it, and it certainly wouldn't have been possible without the amazing team we assembled. This couple thought of everything and had a big focus on sustainability as their thank you cards were printed on seed paper that guests could plant and grow, they composted all their extra flowers, and the most thoughtful thing of all- in honor of all the people that celebrated with them that day, the made donations to some of their favorite local non-profit organizations. It was really inspiring and such a testament to what a truly wonderful and genuine couple these two are.

I love live music. Though not every venue lends itself to being band-friendly, The Mark Croft Band rocked this place all night. With plenty of room to spread out and mix and mingle outside and inside, Anne and Nate’s wedding was fun, relaxed, and felt so comfortable. Probably because of the bride’s meticulous planning skills on the front end. I’m always a little intimidated when a client says they are a project manager or event planner because I know their expectations will be high (as they should be!) but I hope I was able to help bring this day to life for Anne and Nate. Thanks for such a fun day, and for hiring one of the best bands in the area.

Happy Pi Day! I know it's a math thing, but honestly, I try to keep my math to a minimum these days. Pie on the other hand, I'm all in. It's not often that I see pie at a wedding, but undoubtedly the BEST pie I have EVER had is the peanut butter pie from . It's seriously incredible. The perfect mix of crunch and silk, I have no idea how they do it, but it's definitely worth the trip.

I have never seen a bridal party packed with such tall groomsmen. As a fellow tall-person, I felt right in my element. Height wasn’t the only remarkable thing as this group partied every other wedding I’ve done right under the table. This group danced, drank, sang, and ate more than any other group I’ve seen and it was awesome. Congratulations, Alissa and Joe. I’m so glad I got to celebrate with you!

KISS- but not on the lips. This wedding KISSed- kept it simple, stupid 😉- and it was perfect for them. With a small intimate ceremony with just family and a celebratory champagne toast, Courtney and David got to celebrate with their VIPs before the rest of the party arrived. Their flowers were simple but beautiful brightly colored bud vases that ran the length of the dining tables, a local food truck provided dinner, and in spite of the heat the DJ kept the people dancing til the very end. Congratulations, Courtney and David. Hope your marriage is as hot and steamy as your wedding was!

This day was elegant from top to bottom. The gorgeous high ceiling and gold touches from The Eloise were perfectly complemented by the towering gold floral arrangements and delicate macaron table favors. The couple incorporated some very traditional elements like a tea ceremony and gate crash. But the best part was the choreographed dances for the bride and groom, father-daughter, and family dance! They did an amazing job and their guests had so much fun watching and cheering them on.

This bride had a smile on her face and a song in her heart all day long. And not just any song- a Taylor Swift song. Sam and Logan had such a fun day filled with friends, family, and lots of T Swift. The couple wrote their own vows, and, though they didn’t confer with each other, both of them filled their words with T Swift references, lyrics and song titles. It was adorable. Now you’ve both said “yes” go live that love story, Sam and Logan.

It’s hard to pick just one thing that was special about this wedding, as so much love, effort, and attention went into every part of it. The Barn: gorgeous. The table decor: carefully curated. The wedding party: perfectly well-rounded with the addition of an adorable one-year-old VIP. But honestly, I loved the pie. The pie at this wedding was absolutely extraordinary and carried its own secret special recipe from the groom’s family. Good news for you all, you can get some too, but you have to travel up to Stockholm, Wisconsin to get it. My opinion? It’s worth the trip. Congrats, Angie and Jeff! Zing Boom Tararrel Events and Sugarsmith are hiring!
We’re looking for event help for our 2024 season! Jobs would include setting up and serving fresh fluffy cotton candy at events, setting up beautiful dessert displays for parties, and assisting with event set up and management.
📅 Schedule: very irregular, often nights/weekends, but you would usually have several months notice of any event. Once you've committed, I need to be able to count on you. Summer is the busy season, though there are events that come up throughout the year. Events can range from a full day (8-12 hours) or a short 3 hour shift including set up and tear down. You can select what works best for you!
☑️ Qualifications: attentive to detail, particular (Type A isn't a bad thing), tidy, professional, kind, fun, efficient, trustworthy, creative, good/decisive problem solving. Must have reliable transportation, a larger vehicle, particularly for cotton candy events, would be beneficial but isn’t required.
🛠️Job Requirements: assisting with event set up and management (with the potential to eventually become part of the company and run your own events), setting up and managing a cotton candy station. Experience in the service or hospitality industry is helpful but not required.
💲Compensation: depends on the event, but a minimum of $20/hour plus travel compensation if applicable.

I’ve said before: every wedding has its special “thing” that stands out. For this one, it was the live music. These ladies had a special musician for their ceremony and a two-piece band for the reception and they were both amazing. They fit the vibe at this gorgeous family farm and made the celebration extra special. Plus, all their other vendors regularly referred to these two as “the nicest people ever” and really, they weren’t wrong, Mary and Tiaira are both some of the nicest people ever. Congrats to you both and I hope that everyone you encounter in your lives is as nice to you as you are to them. :)

Think of it as your wedding business card. You can hand these to vendors you're interested in and, if they're good, they'll reach out!

You only graduate college once and the guys at the SAM house know how to celebrate! With fantastic weather and desserts homemade and flown in from New York, this party was absolutely awesome. The party couldn’t have gotten any more iconic “Madison” being situated right on the lake and complete with Ian’s Pizza and perfect Bucky Badger decorations. Congrats, gentlemen! You Buckin’ did it!
