Fun project I tried after a suggestion from my dad last year. Haven't used iron wash before, but some expert advice from got me here. This was especially meaningful since I got to use leaves from my family's own farm in Illinois. Looking forward to trying more soon
Finally doing some work again :^)
Holiday sale in the books 🎅☃️❄
4 of these will be available at on December 9th from 1 to 5 pm on Monroe St in Madison. 1 of them, I learned, is not allowed inside the studio. You'd be surprised which one
Got some fresh mugs today! Find these and more at on December 9th. Guaranteed to make you go crazy in a good way
A few mugs I made for Christmas gifts, as well as a couple bigger cases that were experimental forms that I ended up liking enough to finish. More pieces will be available at on December 9th!
Last batch of spoon holders finished and ready to sell! I've grown to love the Raspberry glaze so much.
New mugs looking GREAT!! Starting to build up stock for the winter sale at in December. Cool chimp not included
Fresh kiln unload! Really happy with how these spoon rests turned out. 4 more left to finish, then its on to a new project
Final product of my donut case experiments! I learned a lot about the best way to throw, trim, carve, and foot these weird little bears. Planning to make a few more for the holidays!
New batch of mugs! Trying to branch out of my typical greens and blues with some new glaze combos. Unfortunately this batch has some issues on the inside rims, so if they sell it will likely be at a discount. Still pleased with the outsides!
NO NARCS!!!! I had a great idea for my dads birthday this year. He has an interest in bird houses so I thought I'd try to make a ceramic one that will last forever. A small dowel rod will go across the top, then a string will be tied to that and pulled through the hole of he roof. I couldn't decide which roof was best so I chose to trim them both and let dad decide which he likes.
Last of the yarn bowls are finally finished! Overall very pleased with how these have turned out compared the first ones I made. I think the Raspberry and Peacock are my favorites!
A few completed yarn bowls! Some interesting glaze results, but I am nonetheless pleased. A few more still to come!
I got to watch 2 of my very best friends get married yesterday, but I didn't take any pictures so instead please enjoy the moment when I broke the button off my shorts from bowling too hard
Trying a new foot for the donut vases, really liking this one!
Bisqued 3 donut vases, but lost a soldier along the way...
New mugs fresh out the kiln! Absolutely loving the double coated Peacock glaze on #4. With the holiday season right around the corner I should be experimenting with new glaze combos, so that will be my next project after donut vases are finished.
Pretty soon my summer will be over and I'll be back at my regular job! It'll be sad to say goodbye to my Mon-Fri half-days at the studio, but I'm excited to start a new year of growth and learning with my first graders.
Last year during dismissal, I would sometimes put a video on while the kids waited for the bus to be called. One of them asked if Florian and I were friends, so of course I said yes 😅 From then on whenever we watched one of his videos kids would be shushing each other because "Mr. K's friend worked really hard to make this video for us"
First try with some donut vases! Very fun to throw, looking forward to trimming soon
Most of this batch of yarn bowls is ready for bisque! There are 3 more drying to leather hard so I can trim them. I'm super happy with how these look vs my first batch. Excited to glaze soon!
Little kiln unload yesterday! Some pieces that fell to the wayside for a while and finally got around to glazing them.
Yarn bowls! After so long these are finally all finished. I had originally planned to only make a couple for my dear sweet mother, but after a few I really enjoyed the process.
The first 3 here are already spoken for, but the rest are all for sale!! Dm for details
Couple little vases fresh out the kiln! Bonus spoon holder for the real fans

The haze in Madison makes the air quality terrible, but it also makes an interesting light for picture taking! Here are some commissions I've been working on (pics 1-3) as well as some bigger pieces that haven't been posted before.
Commissions are open, dm for details!
Last night I tried challenging myself with throwing more clay than usual. All 4 projects got scrapped 😅 BUT I came back this morning to try again and it went much better. Not sure how many of these will actually make it to bisque, but I'm having fun playing with larger forms
