The time has come for a new chapter in my life!

My current salon home will be closing its doors at the end of June. It was the perfect place for me to land after my move to Huntsville, and I’ve loved every bit of it. With this new endeavor I will be opening my own Salon Suite, located inside of the Mid Towne Salon Suites on Slaughter Rd. For those of you wondering it’s ONLY .9 miles from my current location so your commute to me will barely change!

My first day open at my new spot will be June 13th. If you have an appointment already scheduled with me, NOTHING WILL CHANGE FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT DAY OR TIME.

If you have an appointment with me before June 13th, you will still come to Salon Sorella for your current appointment time and day.

You will be receiving a text from me with the address, save my number because that’s how you will be able to contact me for and about future or current appointments.

Today is my One Year Anniversary at Salon Sorella in Madison Alabama. WHAT A JOURNEY! I have loved every minute of working with my new salon family, meeting all my new clients and creating moments and memories with them. God is so good and faithful. When one door opens, walk through it with faith and hope and something beautiful flourishes!

I found this to be such a great example, and shampoo with the CORRECT sulfate isn’t bad. Some people need that bubble for their hair to be/or feel clean. Which is why we educate on salon quality, it truly can altar results for colors.

Most people think hairdressers suggest good shampoo to make extra money off their clients. However, THIS is proof how bad build up can get on the hair!

I was lightening a woman’s hair yesterday and noticed how resistant it was to lighten, and this I realized why. What u see at the bottom of this processing cap is buildup literally melting off the hair! The ingredients in certain shampoos are basically coating your hair with plastic. It may feel “silky smooth” at first, but after a while you get so much buildup your hair dies from the inside out, because it can’t get any moisture through the layer of coating.

Makes you think twice before grabbing that Pantene off the shelf next time 😉

Side note: everyone wondering what’s a good shampoo; your main focus is to look for products without silicone, sulfates, or parabens.

This subtle blend and money piece is giving me liiiiiife today. It may be Wednesday but her hair is ready for the weekend ☀️🌹

COLOR CORRECTIONS! They take time and you have to trust the process. The process is there to protect your hairs integrity, because the health of your hairs matter. 💕

Okay….let’s talk consultations! This gorgeous lady came in with a grown out bleach and tone (see next slide), and wanted lower maintenance. Her natural color being dark she just assumed low maintenance = dark.

During our consultation she kept saying she loves being blonde…hates the maintenance, Understandable. So what we decided on was making it a softer more dimensional rooted blonde so she can still enjoy being blonde, but can give her hair a break.

See the thing is if we didn’t consult and if I hadn’t listened to what she was saying we would have had a different result. She would have left dark, and would be missing her blonde (that’s not fun).

Moral of the story is low maintenance is not a one stop shop…hair is customizable that’s what makes it fun and unique for each person. Take the time to consult listen and reach a good understanding for the best and exciting out come.

I actually remembered to take a before 😅🤣 but this was our first round of color on this color correction. We were super excited about the transition. Color corrections can be time consuming and sometimes can take multiple appointments to reach a target goal. Patience’s is important to keep the hairs integrity and health!

Creating a subtle and bright blonde is great for the low maintenance clients. It’s okay to want to spread out your appointments, we can find what works best for you and your life style!!

I thought I would just do a post on the history of my instagram handle! 🤗 My first name is Amber and my middle name is Jewel; I’m named after my great grandmother on my moms side, her name is Ruby Jewel. I was trying to think of something catchy, and thought it had a cute ring to it. My middle name is something I’ve always loved and at one point contemplated going by it…but by that point I’d been Amber too long and I wasn’t answering to it 🤣🤦🏼‍♀️ so here I am pushing 30…Sometimes Jewel, sometimes Amber Jewel, But mainly Amber 🤗🥰❤️🤗

Wow! All the out pouring love that I have received for my new venture is beyond what I could have thought. Thank you so much to the Huntsville Community for the support. With that being said I have a lot of new faces following this page so allow me to introduce myself.

My Name is Amber Jewel, I’m a Nashville transplant to the beautiful area of Huntsville Alabama. My husband and I decided we were ready to move closer to some family that had moved to the area. We sold our house, packed up our sweet Corgi pup Cosmo and made the move! WOO!

We found a great neighborhood and are building a home and setting down roots. I found an AMAZING salon home at Salon Sorella, where I work with two of the sweetest ladies who have accepted me and taught me so much about being my own boss.

I started doing hair in 2011, and from there continued to do continued education that has grown my palette of knowledge and desire to create the best look for each client that sits in my chair. I specialize in blondes, but i do all sorts of different colors. (Despite what you might see on my instagram, I do in fact do brunettes haha).

In my free time, I love hangin with family, reading books, watching Bravo and the ID channel, playing with my sweet Corgi Pup Cosmo, and slowly (and I mean slowly) learning to play golf with my Husband.
