Good evening Soulful Soaps family! The products that were in the works are finally here... Whipped Shea Butter and Sugar Scrub!

The Whipped Shea Butter (left) comes in all nine soap scents plus a baby powder scent which is named "Can't Get Enough". The whipped shea butter is made up of raw shea butter, avocado oil and essential oils or fragrance (depends on the shea butter of choice). Use the shea butter right after your shower to give your skin that extra moisture it needs. You, your body, and your partner (or future partner) will enjoy the feeling.

The Sugar Scrub (right) can be used on your body. It is made up of sugar, avocado oil, ground oats, and essential oils. Use this twice a week to exfoliate and rejuvenate your skin to keep it looking nice and smooth.

I can't wait for you all to try them out!!!

Question... Why use handmade soaps over commercial soaps?

Commercial Soaps:

- Many commercial soaps contain chemical-based colorants, dyes, fragrances, lathering agents, preservatives, and other “things” we can’t pronounce. These additives can wreak havoc on our sensitive skin and hair. Many commercial soaps aren’t actual soap… they are synthetic detergents.

- Commercial soaps are an alkaline substance that cuts oils and can eat away at the natural barrier of the skin. This can cause your skin to develop dryness, dehydrate your skin, and can trigger conditions such as eczema. Glycerin is a naturally occurring byproduct of the saponification process (that’s the chemical reaction that we call soap making). Glycerine is a humectant—meaning it draws moisture from the air to your skin—leaving your skin soft and moisturized. Commercial soap manufacturers typically remove the glycerin from their soap, and sell it separately, or use it in a second product—moisturizer. Yup, they take one good bar of soap, extract the moisturizer, and then sell it to us as a second product (both of which may contain harmful chemicals).

- Commercial soaps are an alkaline substance that cuts oils and can eat away at the natural barrier of the skin. This can cause your skin to develop dryness, dehydrate your skin and can trigger conditions such as eczema and other skin disorders.

Handmade Soaps:

- Handmade soap is made of vegetable oils (sometimes animal fats too) and butters that are rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and nutrients that are essential to healthy skin. And, real handmade soap contains glycerine. You won’t find any natural soap maker out there extracting all the benefits from their soap to upsell you their 2nd product.

- Glycerin is a naturally occurring byproduct of the saponification process (that’s the chemical reaction that we call soap making). Glycerine is a humectant—meaning it draws moisture from the air to your skin—leaving your skin soft and moisturized.

- As with all products, read the labels. If it’s a real bar of soap, you will be able to understand and pronounce every ingredient on the label. There are only a few ingredients in a bar of real soap.
