I thank God everyday for blessing me with these 2 beautiful children. They are pretty amazing & I am so lucky to be their mommy, mama, mom, bruh, dawg… 🙃 🌎

As one big door is closing for me (Merit Pediatric Programs), another very exciting door has opened with Mississippi Center for Advanced Medicine!! I have been working along side MCAM for several years now and they are an amazing group of physicians that truly care and provide quality care for pediatric children in Mississippi. I am extremely blessed to have this opportunity to now work WITH MCAM to open an urgent care dedicated to pediatric patients!
I have been extremely blessed to have so many family, friends, colleagues, parents, patients, etc support me along my journey over the last 12 years, and am so thankful to each one of you for your encouragement and support over the years. I hope that you will all continue to support me as I begin this new chapter! It’s going to be great! ❤️

We had only 1 costume as opposed to our 3-4 usual. 🫣 I’ve had a lot on my plate between life, work, and the kids sooo 1 costume and sooo last minute - yesterday - I made all 5 costumes for $65 with help from !!!

What a day this precious girl had! Woke up to blessings and happies, celebrated at school with friends, birthday lunch with Mommy & Daddy at school, cupcakes with soccer friends after practice, homemade spaghetti for dinner as requested (her fav), family time, brother helping her with her birthday gifts (“brother magic” as he calls it), and tucked in as a 10 year old after a wonderful day full of love. 💕

Thank you to all who called, texted, visited, sent gifts, and messaged to wish Remy a happy birthday! You made her day so much more special! ❤️

When you write an essay & Tory Burch] invites you to her summit to …


“I know my worth, work extremely hard to achieve my goals, take control, constantly strive to be that woman - the best version of myself, and am unapologetic for it.”

📝 In Feb (in the midst of the most difficult 3 months of my career), I got home and sat in the garage for a few minutes scrolling through social media to decompress. Anyone else do this? I happened to see a post from the hosting an summit. Well, in that moment, I wrote an essay about embracing ambition, how women have empowered me, and how I have confronted stereotypes. It seemed like a great time to write an essay and vent, so I sat there in my garage for 30ish minutes, wrote an essay, and submitted it (so unlike me as I didn’t read it a million times to make sure it was perfect). I truly felt so much better getting it all out.

📼 Fast Forward 3 months… I received an email… “Congratulations, you have been invited to attend the Tory Burch Foundation’s summit in person in NYC!” Wait what?! I was so incredibly shocked!!! I didn’t even remember what I had written in this essay. I had to go back and read it. As I read it, I had tears. Speaking your truth can be very powerful & cathartic. I spoke of my experiences when I first started practicing in a male dominated field. I spoke of my ongoing experiences in which I am too often “too pretty, too young, too cute, too small, too fashionable, too, too, too…” to be a doctor. Most importantly, I wrote about the amazing women in my life who support me… , who are always there for me no matter what, encourage me, and are genuinely happy for me. You know who you are and my gratitude to you is endless. Thanks to Tory Burch] for giving women a platform to embrace ambition, to speak up and empower each other, and to truly make a difference.

🏖 SUMMER VIBES ☀️

We started the summer off just right with an amazing trip to Tulum & Playa Del Carmen! We relaxed, ate, drank, swam, beached, shopped, danced, and had the best time. Much needed vacay!

Highlights include:
❤️ making memories with my loves through experiences
🗿 the Mayan Ruins
🙏🏽 visiting a priest that blessed us to enter the sacred cenotes and blessed the kids obsidian stone bracelets to protect them always (an experience the kids will remember forever)
🤿 Casa Tortuga where we swam in open cenotes and cave cenotes (the kids favorite)
🐢 Akumal where we snorkled with giant sea turtles and fish 🐠

9 yo 🐾 Yesterday, I took Remy to the first day of her first job. 🐾 This past weekend, Remy met 🐶 Abby & Mrs. Shay. She played with Abby at the soccer fields & spoke with Mrs. Shay for some time. Well, next thing I know, she comes over to tell us that she has a job walking 🐶 Abby. I start to ask her questions but before I can, she tells Naveen & I that she has already negotiated 💰for 2 days a week. She then asks if we wouldn’t mind taking her. Mommy: Yes baby girl, of course we will take you, but who is Abby?! 🤪
❤️ She was so incredibly happy & I was so proud of my little entrepreneur.
Thank you for being the absolute sweetest to our girl. She was over the moon excited! ❤️

🎂 Happy 12th birthday to one of the most precious boys. You are sweet, smart, funny, kind, and so loving. I really can’t even believe you are 12 today. We are so incredibly proud of you & we love you sooooo much. ❤️🥰

💪🏽 These past few weeks have mentally and emotionally exhausting, and extremely overwhelming at work. It has been a real struggle. It NEVER gets easier taking care of sick kids. has truly been so cathartic for me these past few weeks. It has really helped to relieve the stress that I have been under. Guess it’s true 😜 … Being active can boost your feel-good endorphins and distract you from daily worries. It does your body good in many ways. I thought that I was way too busy and stressed to fit it into my daily routine. Turns out it’s just what I needed, so I make time.

🍕Happy National Pizza Day!!! 🍕
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE KIND OF 🍕? 📒 FACT OF THE DAY: Actually just last week, the kids wanted to look up the most popular pizzas in the US!! It differs per region. FYI The most popular in the south is pepperoni! 🍕
Pizza is one of my favorite foods! We eat it at least once a week. We also love to make homemade pizza (SWIPE 👉🏼 to see) and everyone gets their own and puts whatever toppings they want on it. So, when I found out it was 🍕 day, I absolutely had to share!!!

Such a wonderful time at the Burn Gala!! , thank you for including me even though I just started!
❤️ Since so many of you have been asking me about this journey, I thought I’d share. Thanks to all of you for the many encouraging texts and messages that I have received!! It’s been 2 weeks now since I have started. I’ve never done any sort of exercise program for more than 1 week so that says a lot! I can’t even explain the difference between other programs and this. For starters, it’s actually fun! If you know me… this statement is crazy (working out & fun in the same sentence)!!! 😂 I feel like going is more of a social party than working out… even though I die every class and am drenched from head to toe and my legs are so wobbly that sometimes I feel like I can’t even walk and everything burns BUT SO FUN!!! 🤪😂 I was so intimidated BEFORE I went, but never once have I felt judged or uncomfortable at all for being clueless and not knowing what I am doing. Because of this, it motivates me to keep going back. The encouragement from everyone never stops!!! The instructors are amazing! The music is the bomb! Believe me, when I actually am in shape enough to catch my breath, I’ll be jamming out. 💃🏽 All of it makes you want to work harder. So, basically, it’s been great! I am so thankful to have found a place like this. I just wish I found it before I was 40+!!! 😂🤪 Thank you for getting me through the door. Thank you to everyone at burn but especially and for being so incredibly encouraging and constantly texting to check on me! I feel physically & mentally stronger. I feel healthier, and I feel like I have really accomplished something. Like I said before, 2022 is about focusing on me & I don’t know of a better way than this. To all of my friends who have been asking me about it over the last 2 weeks, I ENCOURAGE YOU TO COME WITH ME! I know you will love it too! I mean I still don’t know what the heck i’m doing but plenty of people there do and will help you!! 🥰😘
