I am making some fall changes to my schedule and find that I no longer can offer yoga. I am sorry and wish things were different, but I have to make a shift. Tonight will be the last class as next week is Labor Day. If you are interested in private yoga therapy, I am able to provide this in my studio, in addition to, meditation instruction 1:1.
Tonight will be beautiful by the lake! I am offering a gratitude practice. If you have questions, please text me at 608-228-0979.
There is a very slight chance of rain tonight, so just a reminder that I am always assuming that yoga will happen until 6:30PM at which time I look out the window and if it is raining, it's cancelled. Otherwise, it is happening. Tonight's class focuses on commitment. Commitment to oneself requires understanding and attention and then a stretching and challenging that is kind and respectful to self. This is our focus tonight. If you have questions, please text 608-228-0979.
Perfect summer weather for yoga in the park tonight! We will be practicing with a celebration series - just learning to be in a state of mind to celebrate the comfort of the moment, to celebrate the movement of the body and celebrate any deeper connections we make in the practice. If you have questions, text me at 608-228-0979.
Weather has been a bit dodgy over the weekend and continues today. So far, there is not rain in the 6:45 forecast. Again, I decide if yoga is going to happen based on a look out the window at 6:30. If it is raining, then yoga is cancelled. If it is clear, I will be there and wait until 7PM which will give you plenty of time to get there. On wet days, I recommend having a blanket and mat, if you can.
Tonight we will create a greater and kinder connection to self, through mindful practices and awareness, in addition to specific practices to encourage self-care. Text me at 608-228-0979 with questions.
Weather looks great for tonight! We will be practicing a series that will encourage joy and contentment - these come through the breath and the present moment. We will incorporate the breath into our movements which is a great way to lose the negative patterns of thinking. Hope to see you there! Text me at 608-228-0979 with any questions.
It's never too hot out in the shade by the lake for our yoga practice! Tonight's weather will be perfect for a clearing practice. We will work with the mind and the body to clear space through the breath, meditation, twists, easy/gentle upside-down poses and a little sweat! 6:45PM at the greenway space along the bike path on Brittingham Pl between the boat rentals and the park shelter. Text me at 608-228-0979 with questions.
Tonight is a repeat of last week's planned class as the weather prevented people from joining me.
Tonight we are working in the body with physical challenge - how it feels and how to breathe through it, showing your body and your mind you can do hard things - don't worry, these challenges will be set at levels you can choose and handle that are perfectly suited for you! The goal will be to hold a sense of calm - staying grounded and centered while challenges are present. I will be at the greenway at Brittingham park between the park proper and the boat rental at 6:45. If you have questions, text 608-228-0979.
A perfect night weather-wise! The sun may even peek out for us. Looks like a good night to be near the lake! Even when it's hot out, experience has shown that it's pleasant in our yoga spot (at Brittingham Park greenway). That being said, I thought we'd take advantage of some likely sweating and do a detox yoga practice. This practice is meant to start the process of freeing mind and body from samskara (habits and patterns) that are no longer serving your health and wellness in mind, body and spirit. If you have questions, please text 608-228-0979.
Weather looks iffy for tonight's practice. The way I decide is by looking out the window at 6:30PM - if it's raining, I will NOT be at the park. If it's clear, I will be there. Be prepared for wet grass - blankets with a mat on top work well for this. Our practice is a Dedication practice. We will physically open across the ribcage for full breath and we will dedicate the practice to someone or to self as an additional mental opener. Hope to see you!
Still not all healed up with my ankle injury, going to sit out one more week of yoga and I will see you next week!
I will NOT be doing yoga in the park on Monday 6/14 due to an ankle injury I sustained on the tennis court - will plan to be back next Sunday!
I will be at Brittingham Park at 6:45PM for yoga tonight. We will explore a centering and grounding practice which will also benefit focus and also core strength. Experience has shown that even on hot nights, being by the lake is cool and refreshing, so don't let the heat prevent you from some good self care! There is a very slight chance of thunder storms which is unlikely, but my usual method is to look out the window at 6:30 - if it's raining at 6:30, I won't be there. Text 6082280979, if you have questions.
Another great night for yoga in the park! 6:45 at Brittingham Park along the bike path. Text me at 608-228-0979 with your questions. Tonight we are focusing in on a heart practice - good for self-care and acceptance and also posture and breathing. Hope to see you there!
Should be beautiful for Yoga in the Park tonight! Brittingham Park at 6:45PM We will do a practice focused on creating a sense of ease and grace in the mind and body. Text me with questions!
Yoga in the Park tonight at 6:45! Brittingham Park along the greenway. Text me with questions 608-228-0979.
Yoga in the park is back! May 3rd at 6:45PM in Brittingham Park. I am teaching a yoga skills for good mental health class every Monday in the park. If you are interested, send me an email and I will give you the details.
This is a somewhat helpful listen for understanding habits/patterns of mind and changing them and/or creating new habits/patterns. I like the idea of “friction”. Have a listen and tell me what you think! The episode is A Creature of Habit.
Hidden Brain Shankar Vedantam uses science and storytelling to reveal the unconscious patterns that drive human behavior, shape our choices and direct our relationships.
Yoga will begin at 5:45PM and end around 6:45PM. Sunset is at 6:10PM which means it will be dusk/dark when we finish, so wear layers and long underwear! A hat and a blanket are nice for some, as well. Tonight, it will be in the 40s. I will have lights and will be teaching a program where we are on our feet staying active and warm. Please consider joining in as we get our Norwegian practice going! As the Norwegians say -there is no such thing as bad weather for outside activities just bad clothing choices! We are hoping to continue this through winter with an afternoon practice replacing the evening practice. This year is a time for trying new things and being creative, so come on out!
Since numbers will not be an issue in the great outdoors, no limit on how many come to either or both classes. We will, however, be physically distancing ourselves. I will ask that all are 10 feet away from me as I will be projecting my voice and that everyone else be 7 feet apart in placing mats and/or blankets. I will help with this!
The area I have chosen has a long space of flat grass along the bay and the bike path. From my office you will turn onto Brittingham Place toward the water. The road is a horseshoe shape and has 2 corners - both will get you there. You can park at the boat rental on the corner and walk a little to find me or on the street near the grassy area OR even at the Brittingham Park lot on the other side of the path near the shelter and walk toward Brittingham Place. I will try to be as conspicuous as I can and will likely choose a tree for shade, depending on what's available.
I will bill to insurances for those that have that ability and I will have a container for whatever other donations. Just going to do $10 suggestion. That can be paid in the container in cash or check or we can do via credit card either ahead of time or later via phone or you can just send it to my email address through PayPal.
I will not be bringing equipment. Bring your own. I recommend a yoga blanket on the grass. Yoga blankets are a woven wool or similar material (often brought up from Mexico) that work well. Many people use both and some are perfectly fine with the mat on the grass. The blanket folded up into a pillow with a yoga mat or another blanket are great for meditation. A pillow and a blanket are as well. Feel free to bring any other equipment to try out!
Let me know, if you have questions and call or text day of, if needed at 608-228-0979.

Beautiful sunset for yoga last night! Get on your layers, bring a blanket and come out next week Monday- it was wonderful to be out there!

Yoga in the park tonight! 6PM - Brittigham Park. Text me at 608-228-0979 for details!
Seasons are changing and so is the time for yoga in the park! 6PM is the start time and 7PM end, which means it will be dusk when we lie in savasana. Last week, this was a beautiful experience! It will be 70, but cooling as sun decreases, so bring a layer. Details are the same below. Hope to see you!

I will be in Brittingham park on Mondays at 6:40PM. Yoga starts at 6:40 and goes until 7:40 now. We are facing darkness after that, so for now, meditation is cancelled. I am looking at some online options, but I really don't have any free evenings for meditation to happen virtually. I will work on this. I encourage you to come to yoga as it is not fast moving and includes lots of breathwork and meditation.

Yoga and meditation in the park tonight! 6:40PM at Brittingham Park along Brittingham Court. Text me at 608-228-0979 with questions.
I will be in Brittigham park on Mondays at 6:40PM. Yoga starts at 6:40 and goes until 7:30 and then meditation begins shortly thereafter and goes to 8PM. Your options are to do both or do yoga and leave or just come for meditation at 7:30. I just can not get myself motivated for another activity on a screen right now, so this is my solution. Maybe plan a walk or a jog along the path along with the class? Tonight will be hot, but we have had very pleasant hot nights before and it felt just fine to be in the shade and the breeze from the lake helps!

Relaxation can be really challenging. The practice of savasana at the end of a yoga class is often too difficult for a few in every class. Busy minds make for tense bodies and the cycle of being unable to let go of stress and tension which in turn creates more stress and tension, continues on and on and on......
Lie down, scan the body, starting at your feet. Where there is tension, wiggle, move, stretch and release it. When the body feels relaxed head to toe, breathe to relax the nervous system. Breathe on purpose with conscious intent to relax. Then, smile softly and enjoy. Let yourself enjoy this time, so your mind and body want to come back here. Train your system to want relaxation! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HyauYKLdWfE
Yoga and meditation in the park Monday night! I will be at Brittingham Park along the road between the road and the bike path - we've had really comfortable and enjoyable practices here. We start yoga at 6:40PM and meditation at 7:30PM. Text me at 608-228-0979 with any questions you have.
Feeling disconnected from loved ones and people you care about? Each morning before you get out of bed, dedicate your day to someone and hold that person in your heart for the entirety of the day. Yes, you will go through the day mindlessly forgetting your dedication, but then, you will remember and pause and think of that person. The oxytocin will flow, your heart and mind will (literally) open wider and you'll feel a smile.......
