Tapeworm infections are on the rise in dogs and humans.
Warmer weather, resistance to some antiparasitics, and non-compliance of using preventatives are all cited as reasons for this increase.
WTVC strongly recommends Interceptor Plus for prevention of tapeworm, heartworm, hookworm, whip worms, and round worms.
Keep your pet protected by keeping them up to date on their heartworm/tick and f***l tests and by not skipping monthly preventatives.
Interceptor Plus can be purchased in clinic or online.
Interceptor® Plus for Dogs — Treats Dangerous Worms Interceptor® Plus is a monthly chew that protects dogs and puppies 6 weeks or older and 2 pounds or greater against heartworm disease, adult hookworm, roundworm, tapeworm and whipworm infections.

Warm and wet weather = mosquitos. Did you know that mosquitos are the vector that transmit heartworm to your pet?
Heartworm is easy to contract and difficult to treat. Learn more about it on our latest blog post and make sure your dog is up to date with their heartworm/tick panel and monthly preventative!

Dogs need seamless parasite protection this year!
Between our mild winter and warm, rainy spring, we have an abundance of ticks and mosquitoes.
We have an increase in tick-borne illnesses such as anaplasmosis, ehrlichiosis, and Lyme's disease in our Madison-area dogs. Once dogs contract tick-borne illness, they are more likely to become re-infected or co-infected with another tick-borne disease.
Heartworm-carrying mosquitoes are also going to be prevalent with wet grass and standing water.
Make sure your pups are up-to-date on their heartworm/tick panels and monthly parasite preventative.
When you're away, your cats can play! 🐱🏖⛩🌃🗻
