“Weekend Flowers” 10”x10” oil on gessoed board.
I’m still working on flowers. I LOVe peonies! They are my favorite flower but I haven’t quite figured out how to paint them loosely without overworking them. This is why I keep practicing.
Practice makes progress.
“Little Bud Vase” 10”x10” after about a month away from painting, I’m so happy to get back to it.
I love these pinky-blush colors but part of me wants to jazz it up with a high contrast background instead! Should I change the background?
“His Path 2” 6”x6” oil in gessobord. A woman contacted me to purchase one of my paintings on exhibition at the library at the end of May. She also wanted to buy a painting of my son that was on display but not for sale. She then asked if she commission me to paint the same painting, which I did.
I wasn’t sure how that would go, not knowing if I could replicate something I painted 6 years ago. But I’m happy with how it turned out and so is she. I’m so grateful when people find value in what I do. Thank you!
This commissioned painting is one of my favorites! This customer assembles the most beautiful bouquets from flowers she grows herself. I mean, look at those little strawberries!!!
“Blue and Blush” 10”x10” oil on gessoed board.
It was so nice to paint today. I’m still@working on florals and am enjoying it. Practice makes progress.
If you’ve read this far, thank you for being a part of my art journey! I am encouraged by all of your comments, in person and online. 😊
“Allure” 8”x8” oil on gessoed board
“Harmony” 8x8 oil on gessobord. I’m still working on florals this week. I think I could’ve zoomed in and made this a little larger but I love a good coral colored flower. That orange-pink speaks to me. ❤️❤️❤️
“Yesterday’s Flowers” 6x6” oil on gessobord. I’m painting from real life this week. I love fresh flowers! 🌸 💐 🌺
“Cloudy With a Chance of Sunflowers” 6x6 oil on gessobord
I’ll call this one “Little Beauty” 6x6 oil on gessobord. I’m working on improving my florals this week.
Mathilda 6x6 oil on gessobord
Color matching.
This doesn’t look like much but it’s awesome for me! I’ve been using glass palettes for years and really love them.
I have 3 smaller glass palettes that I placed next to each other to mimic having a larger one but it just wasn’t working so well and it was starting to feel cramped.
I started thinking I should look into having a piece cut to fit my table and guess what happened?!
Literally, a few days later I was in Hobby Lobby and along the back wall they were selling thick pieces of glass on clearance for $4 each. I don’t know what they used them for but it was exactly what I needed and a lot cheaper then it would’ve been to have one made.
I love it when God does that!
I just delivered this custom painting over the weekend. Thank you for trusting me with your memories!

I’m working on a new commissioned painting and the colors are so dreamy!
This large painting dried in time to be displayed at my exhibition (that feels crazy to type out) at the Madison Public Library.
“Vulnerable” 36”x36” oil on stretched canvas.
I found SO many vintage frames to use for my display at the Madison Public Library.
This is the first time that so many of my pieces will be on display in one place. The install is on Monday!!! 🎉
Recently, I’ve had a lot of people ask me if I paint larger paintings. Of course! But if all of my paintings were large, I wouldn’t have room for all of the paintings!
I currently have more than 125 paintings and thanks to their size, I have space for them. Painting small allows me to complete a painting in one sitting and hone my skills more quickly.
I’m excited to see how this large painting turns out.
I love recycling and repurposing picture frames. Not only is it cost effective, but often saves it from a landfill.
There’s a lot of prep going on over here getting ready for my display at the local library.
I’m so excited about this opportunity!
I have a lot of framing to do! I hope you’ll help me decide. Thank you to all of you who are so supportive!
I’ll be back next week with more paintings!
“Sky over Eustis Avenue” 6x6 inch oil on gessobord.
There a little parking lot across from the church on Eustis Avenue in Huntsville. I park there when I stop in to Harrison Brothers Hardware.
The sky this particular day looked so moody over this steeple that I snapped a pic hoping to paint it one day.
And today is that day.
