It’s time for back to school - and First Friday on Monroe Street! Every month we choose a nonprofit to highlight, and donate 20% of our First Friday sales between 5:00 and 7:00 to them. For September 6 we’ve chosen Madison Public Schools Foundation, which supports quality education and opportunities for all the kids in our school system.

We have carried Lovepop's magical 3D cards since they became available a decade ago. This year we've had two opportunities to Zoom with their staff in Vietnam in order to give some advice about how best to sell to stores like ours. The 12 hour time difference is a bit of a challenge, but it's a joy to think we may be helping them be more successful in the U.S. market.
Alum founder aspires to create "one billion magical moments" How did alum Wombi Rose go from building ships to co-founding a 3D paper art greeting card company?
This “Hippo Birdie” birthday card from Recycled Paper Products was one of our top sellers in the 1970s. Thank you for brightening our world for 50 years, Sandra Boyton!
In August 1974, three months after my college graduation, I talked my way into a greeting card trade show at the NY Coliseum, with a small portfolio of cards in hand. There I met 3,494,312 companies who told me I was doing it all wrong. And one small company—Recycled Paper Products (started by upbeat mavericks Mike Keiser [ ] and Phil Friedmann)—who right away offered me a contract. I think it went pretty well from there. to us!
During “First Friday on Monroe Street,” we stay open late - together with many of our business neighbors. Each month we feature a different charity partner, with 20% of sales between 5:00 and 7:00 going to them. In honor of the start of the school year, on September 6 we'll be donating to the Madison Public Schools Foundation. We fully endorse their goal to support the education of every child in Madison's public schools.
Madison Public Schools Foundation - Support Madison Schools We stand with our public schools, working tirelessly to provide resources for new projects and programs that otherwise wouldn’t be possible.
