I know I overshoot at a wedding and I rarely put my camera down. In my opinion the in between images during the family photos are just as important as the posed shots. Here are a bunch of siblings goofing around before we got “the shot”.

It rained all day and it didn’t matter. Jayme and Josh got married outside anyway and it was a beautiful ceremony to witness.

For the last 2 years I have gotten to capture at work for their annual catalog. It has become a session i look forward to - spending time in a beautiful garden with this Mom & daughter team.

I started mini outdoor sessions in 2020 when we weren’t allowed in other people’s homes - It gave me a chance to document families safely and kids attention spans only last about 30 minutes anyway so it works and i will continue to offer them. However, I am here to say, i miss being invited into homes and capturing “a day in the life of” sessions. Images you will all look back on in 20 years and remember that blanket in the corner, that stuffed animal that went everywhere, the old kitchen cabinets - your life - your home - your family in the space you spend the most time together. Letting your kids do their things and having me capture it. Real Life. Invite me to capture a backyard barbecue or a Saturday morning breakfast. I miss being a little fly on the wall witnessing your family living. Here is a session from last summer of Jenny & Bobby and their two boys. I got to photograph in this home a few times over the years and i love being invited back, watching little things change on the walls and in their furniture and being a little fly on the wall capturing their life together.

Jayme + Josh along with their cat named Doug and their dog named Turkey invited me to their home in Chicago this last weekend to document a day in their beautiful space and i had a hard time picking just 10 frames to share from our time together.

We let these two take lead on this session, they had ideas, they had fun and I caught their personalities, their friendship as siblings and it was not only fun but really wonderful to witness. The sweaters were made by their Mama - we had to reschedule a few times because it was a warm fall and she wanted to make sure her kids would keep the sweaters on - maybe the first time i rescheduled because the weather was too nice but i am glad we did because the day we landed on was perfect. I am starting to book spring family sessions, I will be announcing some spring mini dates soon, I plan so do some in Appleton as well & I have only a few more weekends open for weddings in 2024. A photoshoot with 3 kids. In the 45 minutes I photographed this family, all 3 cried, all 3 got snuggles from their Mama, there was lots of running, wet kisses on the fave and a whole lot of love documented.

Abby’s cows were sick, Ogden was the veterinarian that came to help - after a few visits and finally some healthy cows - Abby suggested a celebration beer and well, fast forward to june 17th, 2023 - where they exchanged vows, shared a meal and danced the night away with their family and friends.

When I started my photography business, I had a flip phone and instagram didn’t exist. I would print out mapquest directions and hope I wouldn’t miss a turn on my way to a wedding in the middle of nowhere. When I started this business, I had a 35mm canon camera that was duct taped together and a f***y pack of film - oh and the first 3 weddings I shot, I wore cowboy boots. So it goes without saying, a lot has changed but one thing I feel that hasn’t is my style, I still show up and document what I see, I just have a nicer camera and more appropriate footwear and a phone to tell me how to get there. A few weeks back I went to Claus & Rebecca’s home and documented them in their garden together - no pose guide - just them genuinely being them with garden snacks.

I take thousands of photographs on a wedding day, I rarely take my camera away from my face because moments are always happening and i feel they are all important parts of the day. I spent 10 hours with a second photographer (thank you from Milwaukee for joining me) at this wedding and it was a lovely way to spend a Saturday - here are just a few moments from the day.

Katherine & Riley will be exchanging vows this Saturday! I am looking forward to having these two in front of my camera again.

Mother’s day came and went and I have been thinking of all the mamas i get to capture in the role. From first time moms with their newborn to documenting moms watching their child exchange vows. It’s pretty incredible to witness these moments and I’m grateful for the opportunity to do so. Here is a collection of moments with Moms I recently took and found as a scrolled through my gallery on my phone, the last frame is me with my son taken by this past fall - I get to stay home with him every day and it’s my favorite role I have.

Taking a walk with a couple and photographing them as their engagement session is my favorite type of engagement session. There is time to get to know them, here about their wedding plans and time for them to get comfortable with me and my cameras. Monday night i met these two in Wales, Wi and took a walk.

After postponing their wedding a few times, Katie & Eric finally exchanged their vows and celebrated with their people. During their photo walk with me some of their friends decided to surprise us with a photobomb first for me in my 17 years of wedding photography!

I got to document Eve’s first birthday celebration last Saturday, i came a little early to capture some family photographs before the guests arrive ♥️

Abby had sick cattle, Ogden was the veterinarian that came out to help her and they rest is history. These two are getting married in June and i had a blast exploring this amazing place for their engagement session in November!

A Saturday morning well spent in Alison & Zach’s Stoughton home documenting their day with their sweet child, Mabel. I had the honor of photographing these two get married 12+ years ago and documenting them as parents in their beautiful home was a real gift.
