Spent my Memorial Day putting binding on 2 quilts getting them finished. Now onto the next projects. Already got new applique projects in the works.
Well this one was a challenge, I started it a year ago and literally finished the top exactly one year from the start. I also started it incorrectly a year ago regarding the pattern I was following so as I finished it I realized my major mistakes. But this quilt will stay in the family so the mistakes can be overlooked.
Just got these two quilts back from the professional long arm services of Elizabeth Vaculik. Now to tackle the binding.
Got my new sewing kit/mini tool box. I purchased the Apollo brand and its a lot larger then the Kobalt mini. It comes already with the handle, the lid does NOT need to be rigged to stay up, this one stays up, it came with liners for the drawers and it has a bar that runs down from the back of the lid thru the drawers so when closed it prevents the drawers from coming open and it has a latch. So all this saves me from having to go out and do all the footwork to do all the alterations some of you are having to do that are purchasing the Kobalts mini's. I purchased it off of Amazon and it comes in many colors. I got it decorated with the custom stickers that arrived from Terri Gower on the Mini Toolbox group. This thing is bigger than the Kobalt tool box and I love it. Now I just need to get some trays for the top inside half so I can put the tray from the old sewing kit back in its original box. Oh how we spoil ourselves.
Happy Mother's Day to all my Quilting friends out there. Hugs
Today was very special, not too long ago me and kids had the opportunity to volunteer to go build beds for kids locally in Madisonville in need of a bed. It was a wonderful experience and lots of hard work.
Today our sewing group, along with our sister group donated quilts for those beds we built that will go with the beds when delivered to the kids.
I hope to get the opportunity to help go to deliver those beds to the kids as this organization let's you get totally involved in the whole process.
We plan to continue to make more quilts for this great cause that is so needed.
Beautiful Quilts donated by our local Quilt groups Sew Faithful and Stitchin Hens to the Sleep In Heavenly Peace - TX, Madison Co chapter.
I just finished up this Black Stallion quilt top today. Another black and white quilt panel I added color around to make it pop. This quilt will eventually be gifted.
This cute little bug quilt top was a kit I purchased on sale and it was a lot of fun as this quilt is full of color for those bright color fans.
This quilt will eventually be gifted to someone interested.
This quilt top was doing in blacks and whites with just a pop of red to help those log cabin blocks stand out. This was my first time trying a log cabin block and gosh that is a lot of work. But it turned out great.
This top will be gifted in the future
When you are putting in lots of quilting you get lots of cutting scraps. What do we do with scraps, well turn them into quilts.
These two quilt tops were done with cutting scraps I have in a bucket and these two are quilts for me and my daughter. The Star quilt is Autumn's and the Let It Rain Sunbonnet Ladies is mine. Once finished they will adorn our beds.
This cute quilt top called Blooming Butterflies was gifted by me to my fellow Stitchin Hen girlfriend Patricia Cool. Patricia will choose her own background and binding and finish this cute Spring themed quilt up. I am excited to see the finished product.
This was my first time to do Prairie Points and I really enjoyed doing those.
I'm really behind on posting updated photos. So here goes.

Oh I hate reading quilt patterns. Most of the time I just create or follow a picture of an idea I saw. Quilt designers need to do better in offering better pattern details, photos and videos to help.
This is by no means perfect, but nothing I create comes with perfection.
It will serve its purpose thou and gave me something fun to do with my ribbons.
Top set done, one more set to complete for the bottom half.
Created this raw edge applique sliding horse on the back of a blue jean jacket for Autumn.
