It should be a reality.
All over the world people enjoy coffee. There is research proving that caffeine consumption actually lessens the effects of acupuncture. I often suggest that patients take a break from coffee in the early stages of treatment until they recover from their health condition. Once their health has normalized coffee can be reintroduced but on a more limited basis.
Presence of caffeine reversibly interferes with efficacy of acupuncture-induced analgesia - PubMed Acupuncture is an alternative treatment for wide spectrum chronic pain. However, its validity remains controversial due to the disputed efficacy assessed in various clinical studies. Moreover, variability amongst individuals complicates the predictability of outcome, which impedes the integration of...
Great Article about Inflammation, Joint Injuries and Pain Medicine. It shares some of the issues with paid medication, steroid injections and NSAID's.
Inflammation Part 1: Inflammation, Joint Injuries & Anti-Inflammatory Drugs – Internal Arts International A recent Canadian study offers important clue to why some back pain becomes chronic. The study suggests that taking anti-inflammatory drugs for acute pain inhibit healing, while also indicating that inflammation is the key to healing. The study, conducted by

Here is a short video by a man in India who used indoor plants to protect him from the air pollution in his city.
How to grow fresh air Researcher Kamal Meattle shows how an arrangement of three common houseplants, used in specific spots in a home or office building, can result in measurably cleaner indoor air.
If you have been to the office recently you would notice I have a large amount of plants. Taking care of plants is not just a hobby. It actually offers some health benefits.
Your Houseplants Have Some Powerful Health Benefits The perks can include sharpened attention, more productivity, reduced stress and anxiety, and a happier outlook
This treatment is called dragon or snake moxa. I often use it with patients with severe muscle and joint pain that is coupled with severe fatigue. It is a great treatment for spinal disorders, burnout, neurological conditions, immune disorders, etc. This person has severe/stubborn neck, back and knee pain.
Walking is a great exercise. If you have not exercised in a while and looking for a place to start, walking is great on so many levels. Weight loss, fatigue, digestion, mood, stress relief etc. I usually suggest going for a walk about 15 minutes after eating. Most importantly after your evening meal.
Why you should be adding walking to your fitness routine Science shows that placing one foot in front of the other leads to some seriously impressive mental and physical benefits.
This is what I strive for with my patients. The ones that commit to changing and lifestyle are the ones who improve the fastest and maintain their health the best. You must have an active role in improving your own health.
This quote is attributed to SUN SIMIAO. He was a Chinese doctor that lived during the Tang dynasty. Over a thousand years ago. He made huge strives in pediatrics, gynecology and nourishing life practices among many other tings. He is often referred to as the medicine king.
There are shrines to him all of over China. I have visited the one in Beijing at the White Cloud Temple.
Last week a patient came in with a sprained ankle. First I applied acupuncture and trauma liniment. Trauma liniment is a topical herbal medicine that is applied externally to acute and chronic injuries. Herbs are soaked in alcohol and then rubbed into the injury to increase circulation, reduce pain and swelling. Today I applied a poultice to the ankle. A poultice is a mixture of herbs which are ground into a powder and mixed with a medium. In this case the medium I used was warm water. The paste is then spread over the injury. Poultices are very effective for sports injuries, sprains, strains and chronic pain. I posted some pictures. She came last week with a limp and she is already getting much better.
This patient has been coming in for severe lower back, neck and knee pain. This treatment is called moxibustion. We use the same acupuncture points but we burn mugwort over the point. The heat is very comfortable and penetrates deep into the body. This treatment is great for weakness and pain that is worse with movement, at the end of the day or fatigue. The heat from the moxa greatly rejuvenates the body and gives lasting relief. In the Chinese Medicine classics it often says if acupuncture cannot treat something use moxibustion.
Here is a recent treatment for shoulder pain. He felt much better after cupping.
In the early stages of treatment It is more important to focus on healthy digestion than on proper nutrition. Once you can smooth out digestion a lot of your health concerns will often disappear. By just chewing your food completely you can transform your health, eat less and loose weight.
Besides breathing the only thing you must do it eat and drink. Try and make both your breath and your eating a way to transform health.

Here is a great article on congee. Congee is a great addition to almost anyones diet. It is simple to make and offers many health benefits.
Recent Case. A patient came in on Tuesday. whole body pain/tightness. neck discomfort, constipation, difficult urination, body always felt hot, muscle cramping, anxiety, insomnia. We did acupuncture but we also made a big and easy change in his lifestyle. He did not drink much water because he was busy at work all day. He would wait until he was dying of thirst before he drank. I had him start his day with two glasses of warm water. Then I had him drink liquid throughout the day and not allow himself to feel like he was dying of thirst. It is now Saturday. He listened to my advice. He is passing stool and urine normally. Body temp normalized. He is having an easier time falling asleep, Body is less tight.
This is a reminder to everyone including myself. We all create our own disease and suffering. Simple changes in diet and lifestyle can have dramatic influence on health. My goal as a practitioner is not to have patients come in indefinitely for treatment. I look at your diet and lifestyle and see what changes need to be made. Once these changes are made it is much easier to create shifts in your health with acupuncture and herbs. I also hope to educate my patients on how to maintain there health so they will require less treatment now and in the future.
Last night I had a patient come in for his second visit. Severe neck pain tightness was his main complaint. He has had the symptoms for about 3-4 months. His sleep is disturbed. After acupuncture the pain diminished a great deal but the stiffness persisted. Usually gua sha to the upper back and neck would alleviate this type of neck stiffness. No change. Then I performed gua sha on his chest and the front of his shoulders. Like magic the stiffness was gone. Sometimes the root of pain/stiffness is not where it is felt by the patient. It can originate somewhere else. This is why with cupping and gua sha we always treat a much larger area and follow the coloring of the skin.
Recent cupping session. This person had a lot of upper back pain. He felt much relief afterwards. The marks are very dark. Usually the worse it looks the better the patient will feel afterward. He felt much better.
