It is with profound sadness that the Englishtown Manalapan First Aid Squad announces that, after more than 82 years of continuous service to the Township of Manalapan and the Borough of Englishtown, we will be ceasing operations effective October 1, 2024.

In May of 2023 the Manalapan Township Committee put out a Request for Proposal to provide emergency medical services for the Township. It subsequently awarded the contract to Atlantic Mobile Health Services. Atlantic began servicing Manalapan in August 2023. EMFAS continued to serve Englishtown, and provide mutual aid for Manalapan and other surrounding towns, however the resulting call volume is not sufficient to maintain an effective 24/7 service. After a year of investigating if there are any other options, the decision has been made to terminate our operation.

We would like to thank the volunteers (and in recent years the career staff) that provided excellent prehospital care for our Township and Borough for these decades. And we would especially like to thank the residents of Manalapan and Englishtown for all their support throughout our 82 years of service.

Longtime NJ 101.5 late night host and Manalapan booster mourned at 67 Tommy Gordon was the self-proclaimed leader of the late night from 2004-2009 on New Jersey 101.5. After his radio career he started his own streaming program and later a podcast that focused on his adopted hometown of Manalapan.

It's that time of year again. Please help the organization that helps you. Our bi-annual clothing drive to benefit the Manalapan MRC-CERT Team. All proceeds go to buying supplies and for membership training to make us better to help you when needed. Time to clean out your closets the clothing, shoes, towels, (see list below) that you don't want and donate them to our clothing drive on May 20th at the Manalapan Town Hall. CERT Training 2023 Press Release

Community Emergency Response Team Training
Beginning on January 10, 2023

The Manalapan Medical Reserve Corps-Community Emergency Response Team is a volunteer organization that supports the township’s emergency management and response agencies. The CERT team is hosting a free 13 week CERT Training starting on January 10, 2023. The free training will continue one night a week on alternating evenings through the middle of April. The training will cover basic personal and community emergency preparedness topics, including emergency first aid, CPR, fire safety, and suppression, disaster psychology, basic search and rescue, and working within an organizational framework. Persons who complete the training will be issued a personal response go bag. Upon completion of the course, participants will be invited to join the MRC-CERT team. High school students are welcome.
The MRC-CERT team currently consists of more than 300 volunteer members. Individuals are not required to have a medical background. The team meets during the year for refresher training and drills, and of course if called out for an emergency.
