Congratulations to Rahul Khurana, MD and the Northern California Retina Vitreous Associates team in San Mateo, California for catching a patient’s wet conversion with ForeseeHome!

The patient was referred with 20/30-3 vision and the conversion was caught at 20/50-2. This patient was monitoring both eyes for 7 months when an alert in the right eye ended in a wet AMD conversion.

The patient will continue to test their left eye with ForeseeHome, proven to be the safety net for fellow eyes and best way to monitor untreated eyes between office visits to detect changes early.

The conversion was caught at visual acuity of 20/25-1. This patient was monitoring with ForeseeHome for 5 years and 3 months when an alert ending in a wet AMD conversion was received. ICYMI: Judy E. Kim, MD, FARVO, FASRS and Jag Singh, MD, ScM, PhD, FHRS, FACC came together to discuss the adoption of remote patient monitoring in healthcare. While has helped advance personalized medicine in cardiology, as Dr. Singh reports, there were some challenges cardiologists faced along the way, many of which may ring true for ophthalmologists as well:

Congratulations to Miguel Busquets, MD, FACS on receiving an American Society of Retina Specialists Honor Award for his time and contributions to the scientific programs of the Annual Meeting!

Dr. Busquets from Retina Associates of Kentucky (EyeCare Partners) participated in three podium presentations speaking on cutting-edge developments in retina treatments and technologies at this year's meeting.

Join us in congratulating Miguel A. Busquets, M.D., FACS, on receiving an Honor Award from the American Society of Retina Specialists (ASRS).

Dr. Busquets also participated in three podium presentations at the July ASRS meeting in Sweden, speaking on cutting-edge developments in the world of retina treatments and technologies. Topics included the impact of home optical coherence tomography (OCT) in the management of neovascular age-related macular degeneration, the cost-effectiveness of diabetic macular edema treatments and intravitreal therapeutics utilization in 2023, a study that Dr. Busquets co-authored.

Congratulations to Krishna Mukkamala, MD and the Georgia Retina team in Cartersville, Georgia for catching a patient’s wet conversion with ForeseeHome!

The patient was referred with 20/30 vision and the conversion was caught at 20/30 after testing with ForeseeHome for 7 months with a testing frequency of 6.8 times per week.

As shown in the ALOFT Study, in addition to an improved long-term visual benefit, the real-world compliance to frequent testing was also excellent, with patients testing an average of 5.2 times per week. There are several reasons why the compliance rate is so high:

• Doctors and staff reinforce the importance of regular ForeseeHome testing.

• Patients receive extensive education from experienced COAs and COTs so that they understand the importance of early wet AMD detection and how to operate the easy-to-use device.

• Our Engagement Center team monitors testing compliance and if a patient does not meet the recommended threshold, we reach out to remind them of the importance of testing regularly and offer to enroll them into our Compliance Coaching Program.

• The Compliance Coaching Program offers additional patient support to help patients meet and exceed the minimum testing requirements for best clinical efficacy.
