Independent musicians dont always have access to afford fancy managers, booking agents, press, advertising campaigns and touring budgets when these artists have new releases and new music music. Many times. After completing a recording, many of us don’t have touring and advertising budgets to continue and complete promoting new recordings and new music.

In many cases, Independent musicians have to rely on making solid music, focus most of their quality and resources on making good original music because for Independent artists, creating great music is the only chance we have on people helping us promote it. I’m order for independent artists to survive we have to rely on people actually liking our music. Not a label or viral temporary phase.

We hope to continue making music we can upload for streaming but we also need your help if we are going to continue to.

Being local isn’t a punishment. This is your roots. Maintain them. Being “local” or maintaining a home It’s not a phase.
There isn’t anything negative about being a “regional” or “local” band because It’s your foundation. And it’s for life. Avoid creating a mindset were the largest bands in the world weren’t once “local” and small bands themselves.

We are all “works in progress”. Especially when many of the bands that used to be here are no more. Now it’s your turn!
Seize this moment and make your music and art fearlessly and ignore what’s happening across the pond. Ignore buzzy words, viral trends, temporary, constructs, fads and phases.

Surround yourself with people you can recognize. People who speak your same language and clearly understand what you stand for and what goals your trying to accomplish. Make connections and partnerships with people who seek longevity. Ignore popularity opinion contests. This is the time for independent musicians and creators!!

Melissa has never been onstage with out her signature Wolf tail. Our first show was a Halloween show in 2011 and everyone there that night thought it was part of her costume.
Today she has of 4 different tails to match the energy and loom for each performance.

2 Streaming apps and gadgets are the main gateway tool, determining success in the modern music digital age.
3 These platforms and apps rewrite the “standards” for modern musicians, from the loudness of a song to the length and tempo.
4 The business of the music industry is now mostly hosted online and is customized to the biggest advertisers. The internet and social media are also dominated by advertising.
5 Developers, coders and Tech companies are the new rock stars, and musicians are at their mercy if musicians want their music online.
6 For many artists, the ultimate goal for a musician, is to be validated as a “national success”, even if it means sacrificing their artistic integrity or original self expression.
7 Developers, lawyers, accountants and coders control the new music industry, not the artists, fans or musicians themselves.
8 These technology hosts the data and control to influence what artists are willing to create and how much they should not get paid.
9 The music industry is no longer about creativity; it's about profit and control, fame and popularity, going viral and shopping.
10 Many Musicians are now considered just background noise and commodities to be exploited, not actual artists to be celebrated.
11 The modern music industry is a system that rewards mediocrity and stifles innovation.
12 True art is often overlooked in the music industry in favor of manufactured hits, trends and viral methods that appeal to the masses for short periods. Only to be forgotten again.
13 The music industry is a microcosm of the larger corporate world, where greed and self-interest reign supreme.
14 Musicians are powerless against the forces that control the industry unless we speak freely about it and continue to raise questions to inspire making real changes.
15 The only hope for true music lovers is to support independent artists and speak out, sharing information and educating our fans about the corporate music machine.
16 We have the power to reclaim music from the clutches of technology and profit-driven corporations.
17 Music should be a tool for self expression before any process or tool for exploitation.
18 We need to support artists who are true to their craft and continue to speak out. Many of us would appreciate less musicians who are willing to sell out for temporary viral fame, popularity and “exposure”.
19 We can all help return art and expression back to its rightful owners. The fans, the musicians and the people.
20 The future of music is in our all of our hands.

Look and research music in your own town, city or state. Find at least one band that is observably, to you, the most hardest working , best sounding , most competitive, prepared, highest quality, ear pleasing recorded band.

Still…. Continue to research the bands or artists in your own counties and regions… Search for the band with the highest quality videos, gear, wardrobe and image you like. Find the band with your favorite image and logo, stage plots, live stage performances and highest level of originality and authenticity.
Find the band in your town with the most draw and the best attendance, fanbase, high quality merch , personalities, writing originality and social media presence. Find the the most professional, talented qualified artists in your own area and support them. But don’t say there is a shortage of new music or new bands.

The most underrated and undervalued undiscovered artists and bands are your neighbors.
