We're excited to share a 'sneak peak' at a super cool project our Leaders in Training are working on! They designed a new book nook so our girls not only have an arts and craft area for down time but now they will have a cool reading/fidget area!

Today we celebrate the amazing Kaylee Richard who turned 18! Kaylee has been with us for many years and has not only had incredible impact on our girls but also on our team.

It is a bittersweet year as she heads off to Simmons College this fall. How lucky are we to have had her with us for close to ten years!! We love you Kaylee, but boy are we gonna miss you! Take good care of our Kaylee Simmons!

Thank you The Sweet Spot NH for making such an awesome cake!

Let us raise our girls to question and to challenge, to stand firm and fierce. Not to bear the weight of discomfort in silence, but to call out and hold others accountable. This is the essence of the wild, sacred feminine—brave, relentless, and unbowed.

Teaching our girls to ask, “What did you mean by that?” is a radical act of empowerment. It plants seeds of confidence and self-worth, urging them to claim their voice and demand respect. In this act, they break free from the toxic chains of silent suffering. They step into the wild, sacred feminine—a force of nature, fierce in their truth and fearless in the face of unhealthy traditions.

Thanks to our most recent visitors, members of TURBOCAM International from Barrington, NH. When owner, Suzie Noronhan, and employees, Kim Nicols and Brittany Lampe arrived they immediately witnessed girls focused, and immersed in a building project. During camp, the girls build individual projects everyday, but on Fridays, the girls are challenged to work as a team building picnic tables to be donated at parks throughout the City of Manchester, NH Parks & Recreation.

Our visitors also toured our STEAM room, and learned about our program supporting families through our Kindness Room. They assisted with lunch, and then joined the girls to learn more!

If you or your business would like to join us for a tour to learn more about how we are building future female leaders please contact Paula to schedule a visit today! [email protected]

Today we kick off week three of our Build Me Up Summer Camp series!

Each morning our girls use lots of critical thinking to build a different project in our woodworking shops. Each afternoon they participate in a different STEAM activity.

Thanks to Christine at the Millyard Museum for a tour/conversation around powerful girls in the industrial era who worked in the mills! Thanks to Aunti Nancy who made hundreds of beanbags to go with the game our builders built! Thanks to Gary for teaching our girls how to use our laser cutters to build cool lampshades for their solar nightlights! Thanks to Maddie who teaches the girls how to build bridges to withstand weight using toothpicks/marshmallows! And to Madeline at The Green Beautiful for the awesome cooking classes! It does take a village and we are grateful for everyone who is stepping up to be part of our village!

Gerda Lerner, the historian and scholar who pioneered the field of women's history, once described how frequently girls and women's stories have been neglected in the study of history: "In my courses, the teachers told me about a world in which ostensibly one-half the human race is doing everything significant and the other half doesn’t exist. I asked myself how this checked against my own life experience. ‘This is garbage; this is not the world in which I have lived.’"

To introduce kids to pioneering women role models who changed the world, we recommend the picture book "Shaking Things Up: 14 Young Women Who Changed the World" for ages 5 to 9 (https://www.amightygirl.com/shaking-things-up), and the illustrated biography "HerStory: 50 Women and Girls Who Shook the World" for ages 8 to 13 (https://www.amightygirl.com/herstory)

To find many books for children and teens about famous women that we fortunately now have access to thanks to the work of Dr. Lerner and other historians, visit our "History & Biography" book section at https://www.amightygirl.com/books/history-biography

And for one of our favorite women's history-themed t-shirts, featuring Harvard professor and Pulitzer Prize winner Laurel Thatcher Ulrich's famous quote "Well behaved women seldom make history," visit https://www.amightygirl.com/well-behaved-women-history-shirt

Today we celebrate Kaylee Richard our seventeen year old Program Director! Kaylee first built with us close to ten years ago in her school parking lot. Fast forward to the incredible young adult she has become empowering many girls through building as she was not only our Program Director but also an instructor.

Kaylee has faced many obstacles over the years and I've watched her meet them head on with incredible strength and resiliency.

Hats off to you
Kaylee Richard, stand tall and know we are incredibly proud to support you as you graduate from high school and look to an exciting future at Simmons!

We love you!!!
