🌟 Pose of the Month🌟

This week, let's explore a fresh variation in our Prasarita Padottanasana journey with Prasarita Padottanasana D. 🙏

✨ Try This Variation:

Begin in your wide-legged stance with feet parallel.
Inhale, lengthen your spine, and bring your hands to your hips.
Exhale, fold forward from your hips, reaching down to grasp your big toes with your peace fingers or the outside edges of your ankles.
Pull gently on your toes to deepen the stretch, keeping your spine long.
Let your head hang heavy, and hold for 5-10 breaths, feeling the stretch in your hamstrings, spine, and shoulders.

🌿 Why This Variation?

Deepens the stretch in your hamstrings and lower back.
Enhances focus and balance in the pose.

✨ Student of the Month: Michelle C. ✨

Meet Michelle, our inspiring August Student of the Month. Michelle has been working from home for 14 years, and during the pandemic, she brought her workouts home as well. That’s when she discovered yoga, and though she liked it, she struggled to make it a routine—until she found YogaBalance.

Michelle rearranged her days to join our morning classes every weekday, and she’s been a dedicated member of our community ever since. If you join us for a Zoom class, you might even spot her adorable workout partner, Libby, her “downward-facing” dog 🐾 who loves to relax in savasana!

✨ Try This Variation:

Start in your wide-legged stance with feet parallel.
Inhale, lengthen your spine, and interlace your fingers behind your back.
Exhale, hinge at your hips, folding forward while drawing your arms overhead.
Allow your head to hang heavy, releasing tension in your neck and shoulders.
Breathe deeply for 5-10 breaths, feeling the stretch in your shoulders, arms, and hamstrings.

Deepens the stretch in your chest, shoulders, and arms.
Enhances your sense of balance and focus.

We’re thrilled to introduce Katy, our newest instructor at YogaBalance! 🌿

Katy discovered yoga at 16 in her sister’s basement and has returned to the mat throughout the years to find strength, flexibility, and a deeper sense of self. After 20 years in the restaurant industry, Katy transitioned to being a full-time mom. In 2020, she began homeschooling her two girls and found that yoga played a vital role in both her parenting and personal growth.

🧘‍♀️ Teaching Style: Katy believes yoga is for every body and mind, focusing on alignment to support physical longevity and mental contentment.

✨ Training: Katy completed her 200-hour training with YogaMu (Tamlyn Cohen) in 2023 and is recently graduated another 200-hour training here at YogaBalance.
