Kalwall Debuts New High-Performance Translucent Glazing Product | Kalwall Meet the newest translucent insulated glazing unit (TIGU) that can fit into practically any curtain wall system on the market.

We love any project that uses Kalwall, but this one definitely gets points for cool. This is Ex Machina Soundworks in Brooklyn, NY. Ex Machina specializes in making speakers, so it was essential that we worked with the developer, Imian Partners of NYC, to provide acoustic excellence alongside our famous daylighting. With the beautiful front mural tying everything together, this building truly is one of a kind.

If you’re in Lynwood, WA and in the mood for a swim, the Lynnwood Recreation Center is the place to be. Recently remodeled by NAC Architecture and the builders at Mortenson, the pool area features a beautiful skylight, complete with operable panels to ensure full control over the indoor environment, whether rain or shine!

The skylight spans the entire pool and is a mix of new and old construction, built off of the existing structure as well as a new structure designed by Structures Unlimited, Inc. The skylight is made up of translucent sandwich panels, safely secured to SUI’s lightweight, low-maintenance superstructure. The fresh air, ventilation, and glare-free light the Kalwall provides even helped the Lynnwood Recreation Center earn LEED Silver certification. We’re proud to be a part of such an important community fixture, especially when we can support positive environmental impact.

Out with the old, and in with the new. The Kimberly-Clark Corporate Office Building in Menasha, Wisconsin needed a new skylight, and W. L. Hall Company, along with their partners CR Meyer and SEH Architects worked together to replace the entire aging roof, including incorporating a Kalwall pyramid skylight.

Replacing a roof is no easy task, and Kalwall was there from the start, working with the W. L. Hall Company to provide a comprehensive Daylight Modeling analysis, ensuring that the design would achieve optimal light levels and improve thermal performance and energy efficiency. After that, it was a delicate matter of coordinating the installation with the demolition of the existing skylight and the incorporation of the new roofing membrane to ensure that the Kalwall was tied into the new water-tight building envelope. Thanks to all for the close collaboration to help make this project a huge success.

We’re used to letting light in, but our panels are stunning when they let light out, too! Opening in Plymouth, MA later this year, the Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank’s new banking center is like no bank you’ve ever seen.

Designed by SMOOK Architecture & Urban Design, Inc., this banking center is illuminated by a light monitor that will glow at night, shining through the Kalwall and giving the whole building a stunning appearance. That’s one way to add some ambiance to drive-through banking!

Juravinski Hospital in Hamilton, Ontario sits on a site that has been home to hospitals since 1917. Located on Niagara Escarpment, just a stone’s throw from Lake Ontario, it was important that the hospital’s architecture feel like a natural part of the environment. That philosophy comes through in every aspect of the building’s flowing, therapeutic design.

We’re honored to have Kalwall’s Curved Atrium Skyroof panels serve as the highlight of their atrium. These panels fit right in with the building’s rounded architectural form and provide gentle natural daylight and ventilation, offering patients a well-deserved place to take a breath and enjoy the serene beauty that surrounds them.

What a difference daylight can make. When Embold Credit Union purchased an old grocery store building in Oak Grove, Oregon, they had their work cut out for them in transforming it into a bright and beautiful place to work.

But those dreary beige bones have transformed into a beautifully lit space. The architects at MDG Architecture and general contractor, Triplett Wellman, Inc, used Kalwall panels for a skylight that runs through the entire structure, providing the whole office with gentle, diffuse daylight. We’re happy to have been a part of this transformative effort and excited for everyone who gets to work at at Embold HQ.
