🪗🎹🎸 ANALYSIS OF TRIADS 🎸🎹🪗

A triad is a three-note chord. It is made up of the root, the third, and the 5th (which is actually a third from the third).

There are four basic kind of triads: major, minor, diminished and augmented. Triads are built in thirds. When you stack have two thirds, they form different triads. Hence:

▪️m3 on M3 = major triad
▪️M3 on m3 = minor triad
▪️m3 on m3 = diminished triad
▪️M3 on M3 = augmented triad

m3 means minor third - an interval of a minor third. M3 means major third - an interval of a major third.

Examples in C major:
C E G = C major. C-E is a M3, E-G is a m3. So, a m3 (E-G) on a M3rd (C-E) = Major triad (C E G).

C Eb G = C minor. C-Eb is a m3, Eb-G is a M3. So, a M3 (Eb-G) on a m3rd (C-Eb) = minor triad (C Eb G).

C Eb Gb = C diminished. C-Eb is a m3, Eb-Gb is a m3. So, a m3 (Eb-Gb) on a m3rd (C-Eb) = minor diminished (C Eb Gb).

ℹ️C E G # = C augmented. C-E is a M3, E-G # is a M3. So, a M3 (E-G #) on a M3 (C-E) = augmented triad (C E G #).

Albert Einstein was indeed an avid violinist. He began playing the violin at the age of six and remained passionate about music throughout his life. In 1937, Einstein met Bronislaw Huberman, a renowned Polish violinist, at his home in Princeton, New Jersey. Their meeting was significant as both men shared a deep appreciation for music and discussed various topics including their mutual love for the violin.

Einstein admired Huberman's musical talent and his efforts to save Jewish musicians during the rise of the N**i regime. Huberman played a crucial role in founding the Palestine Symphony Orchestra (now the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra) by bringing together displaced Jewish musicians from Europe. This initiative not only saved many lives but also created a lasting cultural legacy in Israel [[❞]].

The British and American names for the Musical Notes

A note is a character that explains musical sound. The plural form of note is notes. Hence, notes are characters that explain musical sounds.

There are about eight kinds of musical notes:
▪️Breve (Double whole notes),
▪️Semibreve (Whole note),
▪️Minim (Half note),
▪️Crotchet (Quarter note),
▪️Quaver (Eighth note),
▪️Semiquaver (Sixteenth note), ▪️Demisemiquaver (Thirty-second note), and ▪️Hemidemisemiquaver (Sixty-fourth note).

Note that:
➡️ The names in the brackets are American while those outside the brackets are British.
➡️ The number of beats these notes carry depend on meter/time signature. For instance, in 6:4, 4:4, 2:4, and 3:4 time signatures, semibreve = 4 beats, minim = 2 beats, crotchet = 1 beat, quaver = half beat. But in 2:2, 4:2, and 3:2 time signatures, semibreve = 2 beats, minim = 1 beat, crotchet = half beat because minim is used as a beat. In 6:8 time signature, crotchet = 2 beats because quaver is used as a beat.
