Endometriosis is a poorly understood and complex condition present in 10-15% of women in their reproductive years. And while women with Endometriosis can still get pregnant, it can be a contributing factor and cause of infertility. In short, Endometriosis is when tissue similar to the tissue that typically lines the inside of your uterus (the endometrium) grows outside your uterus. It most commonly involves your ovaries, fallopian tubes and the tissue lining your pelvis. Endometriosis is difficult to diagnose, making managing it even harder. A poor understanding of Endo has prevented many women from receiving adequate care.
Luckily, there are ways to treat and manage Endo that can lead to an increased quality of life, decrease in symptoms, and improved reproductive outcomes.

Talk to an informed and compassionate healthcare professional. If they don’t take you seriously, find a new one. Period.
