Just a day in New York City 🏙️

Everybody knows well that in NYC it's rare to have some time for yourself, but I always try my best to enjoy!

Here I was in Bryant Park and I was resting after a long walk, which is part of my daily exercises! And with my new smart watch it's so much greater 🤩

Mont Saint-Michel and tides.

Same day, different hour.
The first picture was at around 4:30 pm on July 17th, the second one at 8:30 pm, same day!

Every location on earth experiences two high tides and two low tides. Since the gravity of the moon causes the bulges in the ocean, it takes 24 hours and 50 minutes for the bulges to make their way around the world. Since there are two bulges, there are two high tides and two low tides per 24-hour and 50-minute period. Thus, high tide occurs every 12 hours and 25 minutes. This is why the high and low tides do not occur at the same time each day.

Living the French life... with a baguette 🥖

I really loved Saint Malo, where the ramparts stand proudly above its beaches and its port.
I enjoyed seeing the low tide, and even put my feet in the ocean (the water was so cold!).

Enjoying la vie in Honfleur, Normandie.

- Honfleur is home to the largest wooden church in France – St Catherines!

Really cute little town. The weather was nice, sometimes hot in the sun, sometimes rainy and cloudy.

I can't be happier than now, with a dozen oysters for 7 euros in total at the Marché aux huîtres de Cancale! 🦪

Anywhere I go, I need these with me. The best way to stay clean (especially in countries with no bidets 😜)

One of my favorite painters, Monet, painted around 90 canvases here in Étretat. And it's not difficult to understand why.

Finally, after 7 years of living in the Big Apple, I experienced it.

For Stonehenge, the special day is the summer solstice, when the Sun rises in perfect alignment with several of the stones, signaling the change of season.

For Manhattan, a place where evening matters more than morning, that special day comes twice a year, when the setting Sun aligns precisely with the Manhattan street grid, creating a radiant glow of light across Manhattan's brick and steel canyons, simultaneously illuminating both the north and south sides of every cross street of the borough's grid.
