When the weather is iffy and you have a BIG pile of trim that needs to be stained, you join crew forces and knock it out!

It is with great sadness that we report the passing of our founder, Don Crubel. Don started this company in 1963 alongside his father Ray (the D and R of D&R Construction). He managed the business with expertise; instilling in his employees a love for hard work and pride in a job well done. His favorite saying was “In every job that must be done, there should be an element of fun.” He was truly the heart of D&R Construction.

Don was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and so much more. He will be missed by many. Godspeed Don.

On National Vietnam War Veterans Day, we commemorate the service and sacrifice of Vietnam veterans and their families.

In 1980, land in Constitution Gardens was authorized for a memorial. A design competition was announced, and 21-year-old Yale architecture student Maya Lin earned the unanimous selection. Completed in 1982, the central element of Lin's memorial is the shiny black granite wall in a wide V shape, with one "arm" directed toward the Lincoln Memorial and the other toward the Washington Monument. The faces of visitors are reflected in the walls bearing the etched names of the 58,318 men and women who died in combat or are listed as missing in action (MIA).
