Our Story

Andrea Carrano created his shoe line during World War II. When shoes were in high demand, women began to trade in their leather bags for a pair of Carrano’s shoes. The success of his first store allowed him to expand the company, enabling him to form a chain of boutiques all around Italy by 1962.

When Andrea met his wife Betta in the late seventies, she joined the company and together they began distribution of the Andrea Carrano name across the world in Germany, Australia, the Virgin Islands, and dozens more. In addition, they opened boutiques in New York, Beverly Hills, and Bal Harbour, making them one of the first Italian brands to hit the American market. In the mid-80s, Andrea Carrano began to produce and distribute shoe collections for various designers including Christian Dior, Krizia, Alberta Ferretti, Norma Kamali, and Sonia Bogner.

Today, the Andrea Carrano name lives on through family and through business. Andrea Carrano, Jr. has taken the company’s reins after his father’s passing, enthusiastically and sentimentally adding a modern take on his father’s vision. Andrea Carrano shoes are still handmade with love in Naples, Italy from locally sourced leather, and are now marketed and distributed directly to the consumer by modern standards as spearheaded by Andrea Carrano, Jr.

The Andrea Carrano name has been synonymous with quality and style for over sixty years. Since its inception, Andrea Carrano has continued to create contemporary designs in footwear while pioneering classic styles, such as the ballerina flat, and continues to remain one of the most prestigious names in Italian fashion.
