Our second K-State Financial Planning Academy, sponsored by Charles Schwab, was a huge success. 44 high school students completed a financial planning case study, presentation, and business and marketing plan. Though there was a lot of work, there was also a lot of fun. Students learned about our campus and programs, how K-staters work as a team, and how delicious Call Hall ice cream is!

We had a great team, including 10 student counselors, many financial planning firms, and Powercat Financial, who supported us throughout the week as we helped students learn how to better manage their financial future and learn about the profession!

We had a fantastic and unique opportunity to have our department wordmark on a car in the Porsche Carrera Cup. Dr. Derek Sensenig, a Professor of Practice and Director of the K-State PFP Master Program, is a co-owner and secured our mark on what turned out to be not only an amazing opportunity to promote our program but also history-making.

Last March, the driver, Jordan Wallace, was the first African American racer to compete in the Porsche Carrera Cup North America.
