Sunset Bible Camp

Summer 2024

Dear Christian Friends,

We are officially done with the 2024 Camp Season, and it was a very fruitful season. This year our member Churches had over 800 campers and sponsors and 23 baptisms during our weeks of camp. We are so grateful to all the Deans, Sponsors and volunteers that make camp such an incredible experience for our young people. It is so wonderful to see campers grow up to be the future leaders of our Churches. There are past campers that come out now, as deans, teachers, sponsors and summer employees. Sunset Bible Camp has made an impact on many people and will continue to be a shining beacon for the Lord. The campers raised $4173.19, and all the funds went to support the Sunset Steps Campaign.

The Sunset Steps Campaign was started at the end of 2023 in response to several large expenses that happened that year that depleted all the extra resources that Sunset needs to operate yearly. With your help we have raised over $64,000 of the $118,000 goal to help offset some of those expenses. Sunset still needs your help as we want to pay off the new HVAC units that were installed in the North Dorms. We are humbled by your generosity and pray the God richly blesses you.

The rest of the summer was a blessing as the rental camps went well and there were 32 baptisms and many decisions for the Lord. In total there were 55 baptisms at Sunset for 2024. Praise the Lord! We are looking forward to the fall season, cooler weather and the weekend retreats. Sunset Bible Camp is a Christ centered resource of great value to our member Churches. Please pray for Sunset, our fundraiser and for many more years of service to our youth.

Camp had a couple lifeguards fall through last minute, we are still in need! If you know of any HS students, college students or young adults that would be interested in lifeguarding for us this Summer send them our way. Camp will even pay for their certification if need be.

Member Churches for Sunset Bible Camp are expected to send at least 3 church leader representatives to the Annual Board Meeting each year. We look forward to meeting with you this Sunday, March 3, 2024 at 3pm at Sunset Bible Camp!

The Sunset Annual Meeting is scheduled for Mar 3rd at 3:00 @ Sunset Bible Camp. Each member Church should bring 3 reps. See you there!

Due to extreme weather, Celebration is cancelled on Jan 21. Text the keyword ANNUAL to be kept up to date on the Annual Meeting that is now scheduled for Mar 3rd.

There won't be a meal or some of the extra family elements at the Annual Meeting, however each member Church can use the opportunity to hear first-hand what is happening with Sunset Bible Camp and Trustees will be re-elected for the next term.

We have had a fruitful year at Sunset Bible Camp. There were so many victories and positive things happening at Sunset. We had new roofs on all the teaching shelters, new steps down to the lake and even a new tractor. There were 50 baptisms at camp and many others in the home Churches. Sunset has truly been blessed in 2023.

Sunset Bible Camp’s Annual Celebration is scheduled for Sunday January 21, 2024. The General Board Meeting is at 3pm and the Celebration is at 4pm. It will include an auction, outdoor fun, community, and s’mores. Dinner will be served at 4:30 pm and we’re asking for a donation of $7 per person and $5 per child or $20 per family.

We wish you a Merry Christmas and Prosperous New Year. I am so thankful to all the Churches and individuals that have responded to the Trustees’ recent fundraising letter “Sunset Steps Campaign”. We have raised approximately $31,000 of the $118,000 goal and encourage you to continue to promote Sunset’s fundraiser. The lives of so many campers have been changed for the Lord at camp. Your generosity is truly a testament to your support of Sunset Bible Camp. Thank you and God bless you!

Dear Christian Friends,

We began the summer camp season with High School Camp followed by Middle School Camp. The theme for both camps was Renew: Heart, Soul, Mind and Strength based on Mark 12:30 “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength”. There were 7 baptisms during High School week and 12 during Middle school week. They raised $2029.73 for Against Global Hunger.

Our 4th and 5th Grade Camp was rescheduled for the end of July because of the storm on Father’s Day. 2nd and 3rd Grade Camp was on schedule. This year the theme was “I am Team” and they focused on raising funds for Live Church Solutions. They raised $2066.02 and there were 5 baptisms. We had a total of 50 baptisms at Sunset this summer with the rental Churches. Praise the LORD!

Thank you so much for your continued support of Sunset Bible Camp. We strive each year to improve and update the camp. This year we were able update the three shelters on the campground before the 2023 camp season started. These shelters are used all summer long. A new kitchen island was also purchased thanks to a donor and matching funds.

We are so grateful for reliable partners like you who invest in Sunset Bible Camp. Lives are changed and decisions for the Lord are made in this place. Thank you for your part in making it happen.

Camp has power! So, that means 2nd & 3rd Grade camp is on for this Thurs & Fri, Jun 22 & 23! Spread the word.

Due to power loss, 4th & 5th Grade Camp is moving to Jul 23-26. For now, 2nd & 3rd Grade Camp will stay on Jun 22 & 23. Spread the word!

Did you know that our 6/7/8 Students had the opportunity to pack meals for Against Global Hunger this week? They did two shifts: girls packed 9,504 MS meals & boys packed 8,640 MS boys (45 minutes).
Adding the 11,880 meals packed at High School camp, the total for both weeks is 30,024 meals 🤩
Amazing!
