The first episode of Catch Up with Cantu for the 2024-25 school year is out! Superintendent Dr. Kimberley Cantu touched on events going on in MISD – including It Starts with Hello Week where students are encouraged to make new friends and spread kindness. She also highlighted September’s celebration of National Hispanic Heritage month and Attendance Awareness Month.

In this month’s Board Brief, Mansfield ISD Board of Trustees President Keziah Farrar recaps what happened at last night’s regular board meeting! The board recognized students for their amazing work at the UIL state journalism competition. MISD’s Fine Arts Department was honored for receiving awards for excellence at the national and state levels for music, theatre and visual arts. Thanks for joining us at our 9th annual Back to School Bash. It was great to see your faces, and we can’t wait for school to start! To our sponsors and vendors who helped us serve our students and families with free backpacks, school supplies, shoes, immunizations, eye exams, dental exams, sports physicals, haircuts and more – THANK YOU – we could not do this without you. We’re ready for the 2024-25 school year to be our best yet. We Are One – one vision, one passion one family!

The rain is gone, and there's time left to join us at Back to School Bash! We still have backpacks AND shoes to give away. Come join us! We're at the Dr. Jim Vaszauskas Center for the Performing Arts and Ben Barber Innovation Academy until noon.

Our annual Back to School Bash is TOMORROW! Free backpacks, medical checkups, haircuts, games, giveaways and more!! Giveaways are first-come-first-served. Lines can get long, so please be patient and no line placeholders. Check out our previous posts for details about accessing all of the giveaways and services. It’s going to be hot, so stay hydrated! ☀️🏎️ Earlier this week, the Mansfield ISD’s solar racing team, the ‘Shine Runners,’ spent two days racing their scratch-built vehicle for the Solar Car Challenge at Texas Motor Speedway! Our team combines talent from Ben Barber Innovation Academy’s CNC machining, welding, automotive, electronics, robotics, engineering, and web design programs. With over 50 teams competing in this race, the goal isn't speed but endurance – making as many laps as possible using solar power. 🌟🔧
