Each year, Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15, by celebrating the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America.
The Mansfield ISD Communications & Marketing Department asks that you take a few moments to complete our survey. Providing us with your honest feedback helps us evaluate our performance and plan for the future. Introducing Haley Thomas, Legacy High School class of 2014! During her time at as a Bronco, Mrs. Thomas was involved in the volleyball team, cheerleading squad, and teen leadership program.
After graduation, she studied at Texas Tech University and later earned her degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Texas at Arlington. Mrs. Thomas started her teaching career in Crowley ISD, then moved to North Carolina before returning to Texas. She is now teaching 5th Grade Math & Social Studies at Donna Shepard Leadership Academy.
Mrs. Thomas credits the Ready Set Teach program and Ben Barber Innovation Academy for preparing her to be an educator. We are thrilled to have you back in Mansfield ISD, Mrs. Thomas!

The board recognized students for their amazing work at the UIL state journalism competition. MISD’s Fine Arts Department was honored for receiving awards for excellence at the national and state levels for music, theatre and visual arts. The board approved a lower tax rate for the coming year and heard about the progress being made on projects funded by the 2024 bond.

The Mansfield ISD School Board officially received their award tonight for being named the 2024 Region 11 Texas Association of School Administrators School Board of the Year! The board was recognized for excellence in communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity.
At tonight's board meeting, Dr. Clyde Steelman, Executive Director of Region 11, presented Dr. Kimberley Cantu with an award for being named our region's superintendent of the year. Just this week, Dr. Cantu was selected as one of 5 finalists for Texas' Superintendent of the Year!
The winner will be announced at the TASA/TASB convention on Sept. 28. Congratulations, Dr. Cantu!
At this evening’s board meeting, Mansfield ISD received recognition for being named one of the country's Best Communities in Music Education, as well as earning the Texas Arts Educators Association District of Distinction and the Texas Educational Theatre Association District of Distinction. This achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our exceptional Fine Arts Department.
At tonight’s board meeting, we celebrated Legacy High School’s Journalism team for their impressive performance at the UIL Journalism State Competition! 🏆 Blake Hinerman earned 2nd place in News Writing, while Kati Waguespack secured 3rd place in Editorial Writing.
