At 2:26 AM on Sunday, June 23rd, three masked men smashed the front glass door and broke into Eric's RX Shoppe. They were in and out of the pharmacy(after grabbing what they wanted) in under 2 minutes and drove away. We are grateful for the quick response of Horsham & Upper Dublin Police Department and have supplied them with whatever they needed to catch these criminals.

Most importantly, everyone is okay. Eric personally made sure to have a new front door installed within a few hours and the store cleaned up. Eric's RX Shoppe will be open for normal business hours on Monday, June 24th with no interruptions to our patients.

Since we renovated the Vaccine Clinic and aren’t able to allow kids draw inspiring messages on the walls, we have tried to come up with ideas to keep kids busy and distracted before, during, and after their vaccine appointments. We put connect four on the wall and loaded up with toys/candy. Additionally, we have a been fortunate to receive a beta testing unit of the Nex Playground Gaming System to be released around Christmas 2023. Nex Playground is motion-driven video game console where your movements are what controls the game play. Here are some pictures of children enjoying the system during the vaccination appointment.

Yes, the new seasonal COVID vaccines (not a booster) were approved by the FDA today. We expect full approval by the CDC tomorrow. We have been in constant communication throughout the past few months with Moderna and Pfizer; and we should have doses in hand ready to administer in the very near future.

These vaccines, unlike previous COVID vaccines, are no longer free. They are over $130 a shot. We do accept coverage from most insurers and hope they are able to add and cover these new vaccines in a quick and timely manner. Please bear with us as we figure out coverage for anyone who wants this vaccine. We will update our Facebook and website once we can take appointments for the new seasonal monovalent COVID Vaccines. Eric’s RX Shoppe now has the new RSV Vaccine (AREXVY) in stock, and we are now administering to anyone 60 years of age and older.

What is RSV?
RSV is a common and contagious virus that usually causes mild, cold-like symptoms.2,3 But sometimes, RSV infection in older adults can progress to more severe disease involving the lower respiratory tract. Older adults are at increased risk for severe RSV infection, including those with certain underlying conditions.

What is AREXVY?
AREXVY is the first RSV vaccine approved for the prevention of RSV-LRTD in individuals aged 60 years and older. AREXVY is a one dose vaccine.

How well does AREXVY work?
Per the manufacture studies, overall efficacy against RSV is 82.6% And 94.6% efficacy against RSV in participants with at least 1 comorbidity.

How much does AREXVY cost?
If you have Medicare Part D, AREXVY is fully covered with zero copay. If you do not have Medicare Part D, we anticipate full coverage from other insurers, but do not have confirmation of this because of how new AREXVY is. For cash paying customers, AREXVY cost over $300 per dose.

Should I get AREXVY?
If you are 60 years and older, our recommendation is that you should get this shot to protect yourself from RSV. As always, please reach out to our pharmacist Eric or Chris at 215-646-4800 to discuss this vaccine or for them to provide any additional information.

Criteria for the additional bivalent booster dose is below:
• Most individuals, depending on age, previously vaccinated with a monovalent COVID-19 vaccine who have not yet received a dose of a bivalent vaccine may receive a single dose of a bivalent vaccine.
• Most individuals who have already received a single dose of the bivalent vaccine are not currently eligible for another dose. The FDA intends to make decisions about future vaccination after receiving recommendations on the fall strain composition at an FDA advisory committee in June.
• Individuals 65 years of age and older who have received a single dose of a bivalent vaccine may receive one additional dose at least four months following their initial bivalent dose.
• Most individuals with certain kinds of immunocompromise who have received a bivalent COVID-19 vaccine may receive a single additional dose of a bivalent COVID-19 vaccine at least 2 months following a dose of a bivalent COVID-19 vaccine, and additional doses may be administered at the discretion of, and at intervals determined by, their healthcare provider. However, for immunocompromised individuals 6 months through 4 years of age, eligibility for additional doses will depend on the vaccine previously received.
• Most unvaccinated individuals may receive a single dose of a bivalent vaccine, rather than multiple doses of the original monovalent mRNA vaccines.
• Children 6 months through 5 years of age who are unvaccinated may receive a two-dose series of the Moderna bivalent vaccine (6 months through 5 years of age) OR a three-dose series of the Pfizer-BioNTech bivalent vaccine (6 months through 4 years of age). Children who are 5 years of age may receive two doses of the Moderna bivalent vaccine or a single dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech bivalent vaccine.
• Children 6 months through 5 years of age who have received one, two or three doses of a monovalent COVID-19 vaccine may receive a bivalent vaccine, but the number of
