Community Education’s ECFE program introduced an exciting new class this summer: Community Visits for Spanish Speaking Families. Designed for families with children from birth to age eight, this class provided unique opportunities to explore local community resources. Each week, families visited different neighborhood locations, engaged in hands-on learning and play. This week, Metro Transit visited the class at Willow Lane Early Childhood Center to share information about using public transportation. Families and staff had a chance to ride a Metro Transit bus, creating a fun and educational experience for everyone.

Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) serves families with children birth to five through Community Education. During the summer, families have enjoyed opportunities for learning, exploration, play, and parent education at Willow Lane Early Childhood Center and local community parks.

ECFE helps families build a strong foundation for lifelong learning. Classes offer opportunities for children to learn through play with other children, their families, and an early childhood teacher. Adults connect with a parent educator to discuss various parenting topics and resources.
