Years ago, my husband and I took a leap of faith. He made a pivotal change in his career, and we drove across the country to start a new and unfamiliar life. When searching for a real estate professional, what do you look for? Everyone has different needs, so their list may be different. I would like to share a little bit about my story and what I offer to help you determine if I am the right fit for you.
I grew up in a small home in West Jordan, Utah. I am the 2nd oldest and oldest girl of 6 kids. Growing up, we didn’t have a lot. My parents struggled to provide for their children through multiple job losses, lean times and other various trials. However, we were never at a want. My sweet mother worked as the bookkeeper for my dance teacher for years just to provide me with the ability to continue my dream of someday teaching others. She is now able to pursue her own career of teaching special ed in an elementary school. My dad worked long hours in a career he never really enjoyed until the day a car lift fell on him and injured his back so severely, he had to switch careers. He is now happy in his new direction, though it took a major accident to put him there.
My point in telling you this is that we all come from somewhere and the life we grew up in shapes us in some way. I watched my parents struggle through life one day at a time. But we were always happy, despite the difficulties. Joy can be found in any situation in life and my goal is to help people find true joy and happiness in a small way, through the pride of home ownership.
My husband and I purchased our first home about 8 years after we were married. Before that, we moved around quite a bit and were never able to settle. A couple years after that first purchase, we built what we thought would be our forever home. We were doing well, with my husband on the path to a successful career and my new business- A dance studio- flourishing. We thought we were set for life. Then came the great recession. First, my husband was laid off, then my business began failing due to the inability for my customers to pay for extras like dance lessons. We were forced into a short sale when our house value plummeted.
