- Sunscreen daily. Reapply every 2 hours especially if you're spending time outside.
- Avoid the sun. Wear a hat or stay in the shade when possible.
- Exfoliate mindfully. Summer heat and sun is no joke on that fresh skin. Only exfoliate and night and follow up with sunscreen the next day.
- Stay hydrated. Drinking water can do so much for hydrating you from the inside out.

What is Melanoma Monday?

For Skin Cancer Awareness Month, this first Monday of May the American Academy of Dermatology Association encourages all Americans to begin the life long habit of examining their skin for signs of skin cancer.

It's estimated 9,500 people in the US are diagnosed with skin cancer daily. When found early, it's highly treatable.

ABCDEs of skin checks:
❤️ A - Asymmetry
* One half of the spot is unlike the other half.
❤️ B - Border
* The spot has an irregular, scalloped, or poorly defined border.
❤️ C - Color
* The spot has varying colors from one area to the next, such as shades of tan, brown or black, or areas of white, red or blue.
❤️ D - Diameter
* While melanomas are usually greater than 6 millimeters, or about the size of a pencil eraser, when diagnosed, they can be smaller.
❤️ E - Evolving
* The spot looks different from the rest or is changing in size, shape, or color.
