The medial incision provides the best cosmetic result for this bunionectomy. The patient was very pleased. Note that this is only 3 months after surgery and the mild swelling still present will continue to reduce and eventually resolve completely.

This patient stepped on a toothpick on a Friday afternoon while walking barefoot in her home. After trying to remove it herself she ended up going to Urgent Care. The urgent care doctor failed to remove it and sent her to the Emergency Room. She was told at the ER that she needed to go see a specialist and that the ER doctor could not help her. She ended up calling my office after we just closed for the day. Luckily I was still in the office and told her to come over immediately. The toothpick was removed and she went home with a stitch and a surgical shoe and was elated that she was treated. She then told me that she was about to go on vacation herself. This is what PODIATRY does. We help folks with their foot and ankle needs.
