Congratulations to Class #63!

Congratulations to the newest officers of the Georgia Army National Guard. The Georgia Military Institute’s Officer Candidate School Class 63 commissioned ten 2nd lieutenants through its traditional and accelerated program at the Clay National Guard Center this morning. Georgia’s Adjutant General, senior leaders of the Georgia National Guard and instructors and leaders of the 122nd Regional Training Institute welcomed the new officers into the ranks following the ceremony.

It's ! 💪 We hope you all are getting in some good PT. Exercise is amazing for the heart and builds longevity in the body. Keep pushing and stay strong!

V6 patrols with soldiers assigned to the Kosovo Forces (KFOR) mission within the 48th IBCT in the northern part of Kosovo. These patrols are a part of the daily activities conducted by KFOR troops to ensure a safe and secure environment is maintained for all communities in Kosovo. - via 48th Infantry Brigade Combat Team

August 5, 1940:

The Georgia National Guard’s Atlanta-based 179th Field Artillery Regiment and Governor’s Horse Guards of the 1-108th Cavalry Regiment departed Atlanta bound for the Sabine River Valley of Louisiana and Texas where thousands of National Guard and Army Soldiers would participate in maneuvers. More than 1,000 Soldiers departed at 9:00 am in a column of more than 100 vehicles to begin the two-and-a-half-day journey. Lucky members of the Governor's Horse Guards travelled by rail. Elements of the 179th FAR continue in service today as part of the 170th Military Police Battalion, 201st Regional Support Group.
