Congratulations to Hersh Chopra, M.D. for being one of the first doctors to implant a Light Adjustable Lens for cataract surgery in Cobb County.
We are proud to announce that Georgia Eye Specialists is one of the few practices in Georgia and the only one based in Cobb County to have Light Adjustable Intraocular Lens technology and the Light Adjustable Lens Delivery Device for cataract surgery.
This advanced technique, for the first time, allows patients the ability to control their visual outcome after cataract surgery by giving them a lens implant that can be customized after surgery to their visual needs.

After a two-and-a-half-year absence we are back in the warm Caribbean waters of Hispaniola. We have returned to Haiti, this time in the northern city of Cap-Haitien.

We are here to perhaps alleviate some suffering, to cure some blindness. It is emotional for our surgical team to be here. It is difficult to see people who are suffering. But make no mistake about it, all of us here are very mindful that we are here because it is our responsibility to be here.

Many of the blind people, we are taking care of have traveled days over mountains to see us in the hope that we can restore their life. We are here to receive them, to give, and to be given to.

Want to say goodbye to reading glasses?
Almost half of adults in the United States suffer from age related blurring of near vision otherwise known as . Most people begin to notice these changes in their 40’s and turn to “cheaters”, progressive glasses or to focus on near tasks. In October of this year the Food and Drug Administration approved the eye drop Vuity as a possible alternative to reading glasses. This eye drop, which is available by prescription only, works by constricting the pupil allowing the eye to focus up close. Used once a day, Vuity works within fifteen minutes to improve near vision and lasts up to six hours. We are excited to be able to offer this safe alternative to to our patients at Georgia Eye Specialists. Please call us at (770)419-1393 and make an appointment with our doctors to discuss whether is an option for you.

Thank you to our veterans on this the 103rd anniversary of "Armistice Day". I have had the honor of working along side our veterans in three different V.A. hospitals: John Cochran in St. Louis, Maricopa County in Arizona, and the Maryville Indiana V.A. hospital. Many days were very emotional, taking care of who had both deep physical and psychological injuries. I always felt it was an honor to serve these women and men and loved to hear their stories. Thank you for all you have sacrificed.

Remembering the genius of Robin Williams on what would have been his 70th birthday, we reflect on how Andres Iglesias (aka "Cobre") opted to focus on the late actors expressive eyes, as if to allow us to see into the windows of his soul.
"When we speak to others, we often look at their faces. We notice their lipstick color or their glasses. We notice the way they have styled their hair, or a new way they're wearing it." journalist Tess Stevens writes.

"What we don't often notice are the little wrinkles jutting out from the sides of their eyelids; the miles they indicate, and the pain and joy they have experienced. We look beyond laugh lines and under-eye bags, which are signals that the person we're talking to, watching or looking at is a human being."
Happy Birthday Captain, my Captain.
