It’s the Dead Week in the Georgia High School Association.

This means there are seven full days for everyone to rest and relax and take a break from the grind that high school athletics can be. We believe in the power of teaching what it means to rest in Jesus. Join us in praying rest and life over the hundreds of athletes and leaders who are joining us in SSI this week! Athletes have come to camp this week to grow in faith together under the guidance of their incredible volunteer college huddle leaders!

Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) will distribute a stunning number of Bibles at their Christ-focused camps worldwide this summer.

FCA hosted 1,042 total camps last year in the U.S. and internationally with more than 110,000 campers. The camps are a dedicated place for coaches and athletes to invest in their sport, their team, and — most importantly — their faith.

Athletes not only train in camps for their respective sport but also undergo "spiritual training" that reminds coaches and athletes that their identity and value are found in Christ.

"Pro athletes are some of the most glorified humans today. It's refreshing to see one point upward giving credit for their success to God. It's a public reminder that they know that the glory they are given is nothing compared to the glory that God deserves," wrote FCA on X.

There are six main types of camps, including Sports Camps, Leadership Camps, Coaches Camps, Team Camps, and Partnership Camps.

"FCA Camp gives me the opportunity — especially as an NBA player — to share my faith. A lot of kids don't get to see that side of professional athletics. So, it was an opportunity for me not only to do that but also to grow spiritually as a Christian, myself," said NBA Guard Anthony Parker.

Several camps have already begun this summer and will continue throughout June, July, and August.

The organization's theme for this year is "24/7," based on Romans 15:13 (CSB): "Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."

7 players took the next step in their faith today at FCA GSU Football Bible Study ✝️ 🙌🏼 We pray that they continue to dive deeper into their faith community, shine light in dark places, and bring hope to where it is needed most!

Wrestling with the gravity of her own sin and inadequacy, Olivia experienced a profound realization of Christ’s sacrificial love on an FCA retreat in college. “The first night of the retreat, the message was about exactly what I was struggling with- you can’t do anything to overcome your sin…it was the first time I realized Jesus did die on the cross for sin in general. He died on the cross for my sins.”

Encounter is an immersive five-week internship with FCA in Atlanta, Georgia focusing on three spiritual aspects. We are making disciples who make disciples! Encounter is designed to develop the spiritual lives and leadership skills of student athletes interested in growing in these areas or coming on staff with FCA.

Fueling passion and connection, the FCA Student Revival in Milton on Saturday, May 11 was a blend of worship, community, prayer, and real-life testimonies, showcasing the impactful work of God in North Fulton!

We can't wait to be back together this summer for an unforgettable experience at the FCA Team Football Camps, where heart meets competition. Session 1 on July 11-13 and Session 2 on July 15-17 will be hosted at the University of West Georgia. Are you ready to elevate your game with us this summer? 🏈

Douglas County FCA students came together for their final ‘Night of Worship’ for the school year! They worshipped, shared testimonies, had the chance to pray over one another, and honor the legacy that their senior graduates would be leaving behind.

In the coming days and weeks, we will be sharing special moments from counties around Atlanta as FCA students gather for their final events of this calendar school year.

"I vividly remember the day we introduced Ray to the team. Students are very much on guard these days, and trust can be hard to come by. Ray's consistency and authenticity quickly earned him the respect and admiration of the team.

I don't know if Ray’s missed a single practice or game. He's just there. When we talk about the 'ministry of presence', sometimes you go, and there’s no plan or agenda. It’s just to be there and to be available. Sometimes, the greatest ability is availability. And that's what Ray has been to Kell High School.

In 2023, Ray was named Kell High School's Volunteer of the Year. His journey with the team has been remarkable, culminating in a state championship victory in 2023 and continuing with another title last month (March 2024) as the team secured back-to-back championships.

It's been so cool to watch what God has done through Ray and through something we didn't have all figured out. But God did—and he knew exactly what was needed. He knew the perfect partnership that needed to take place for that team, and it's been a beautiful thing to watch."

Reminiscing on our day of pure joy on the baseball diamond with FCA Atlanta Sports! ⚾️ 17 teams and 250 athletes and families were represented here today. With 83% of teams nurtured by our dedicated chaplains, we played ball and shared the love of Jesus.

Today was an opportunity to give these young athletes a taste of the big leagues.

From the thrill of playing on top-notch turf fields to the luxury of limo-buses, every moment was about making dreams come true. Beyond baseball, they enjoyed hoops, laser tag, bowling, and more at LakePoint Station. But amidst the excitement, we stayed true to our mission.

This is more than sports; it's a journey of sharing the gospel and growing together in faith.
