Fealing the love outside Fellows Cafe this morning as I finished up this colorful 16x20” #
More Summer views from the river. This one started early Thursday morning and finished up today. All in a Row 16x20” available
Summer on the River-12x24” Painted a few seasons ago from Wellio Park looking north on the Chattahoochee. This one’s found a new wall to hang on-thanks Crystel.
A beautiful show at Marietta Museum’s Metro Montage last night with many of my students attending - a big congratulations to Anita Savoy for for getting this painting accepted from over a thousand entries
Staying in the shade for this one of the Fowler house on Canton street in Roswell today
Helping Rosemary G. fill up the walls in her new home—this one painted about a year back at Mountain Valley Farm up East of Elijah for the Gilmer Arts Plein Air. She doesn't appear to happy getting her picture taken...she can always turn off the light.
Out on the street today! Working in Roswell at one of my favorite spots. A bit cooler and a bit cloudy so I went big with this one. When she passed by 18x24” Available
Riverwalk Surprise 16x20” Painted this morning along the Roswell Riverwalk. Amazing reflections and serpentine shapes made this an easy choice. This my new favorite size-you can use your whole arm instead of your wrist. Pushed the compliments a bit but not really that much-a beautiful Sunday morning.
Down to Newnan GA today for a Dave Boyd organized paint out. Painted on 9x12 carton boards-from Judsons. Primed them with clear acrylic medium so I could use oil. Loved the warm orange background but still had to steady them up with a regular board to put them in my Pochade- so kinda more trouble than they should be. Probably better used with gouache. This one of the courthouse was sold so you never know!
Another view of Fellows Restaurant on Green Street in Roswell. This one’s 16x20. Yes, it’s available -message me.
Summer over at the river- Only the crows flying around 12x12” available #
Sunday brunch 12x24” available. Before the sun switches over to the other side on Canton street-shadows flow down just as the lunch crowd gets going.
Delivered this big one to it's owners yesterday- they could use a few more! this is the view out their back yard. Thanks Cindy and Andrew - love you're haircut brother.
A new 16x20” view looking south towards all the action on Canton Street in Roswell. A bit of a glare as the sun pulled over to the right.
Alla Prima Still Life-each of these are 16x20”. These are demos for my classes and I’ve switched to this larger format recently. I think it’s wonderful way to learn and stay sharp- I equate it to playing scales of even yoga class-It takes some practice.
Shadows at Chastain 16x20” Painted yesterday between classes at Chastain Arts in Atlanta. This was the last day of Spring classes and I took a break to get this view in from the front of my studio there. Sort of melancholy feeling - not unlike the last day of high school- I’ve decided to take the summer off and I will miss my good students who are as much friends as they are pupils. They all saw this as finished - another reason I’ll miss them.
Up along the river at a clients house-not a bad view. 32x24” painted Plein air while avoiding the rain. After several drawings we decided on this fish-eye version.
Another day in Oriental NC for the NC Plein Air-hey, somebody’s got to do it! This is a 16x12 titled Design in Blue and White…you can find it here. https://ncpleinair.org/wet-canvas-room/
In Oriental NC today for the NC Plein Air -Lovin it! Check out the link to online freshly painted https://airtable.com/appeK6nGGsNdisNaF/shrCW2S7VeAz8BcCB
Life is good! Thanks to Russel Jewel for awarding me the first place ribbon at Top of GA Plein air yesterday. It means a lot to me from a guy who is so good and so knowledgeable. Had a great few days in Hiawassee painting at the GA fair grounds and along lake Catuge -thanks to all the great organizers, and patrons. Let’s do it again next year!
Finished up this 49x36” commission en Plein air today with the help of a telephone pole. Unbelievable day along the river with this oversized view of the flats. Met so many nice folks getting a walk and enjoying themselves on a perfect day.
A bit of a departure for me this elevated view from a block north on Canton Street. Working on a few of these 24x18s for a client
Painted the glare off the lake at The Big Red Oak Plantation on Friday for Plein Air Meriwether. I missed a few days but still had a great time with old and new friends in this quietly gorgeous area of Georgia. Thanks to all involved. https://openairmeriwether.com/product/sunset-from-cabin-by-ed-cahill/
Just a perfect afternoon at Mabry farm capturing the Spring colors, buttercups and a posing horse - this is the essence of this place!
The other side of the riverwalk-18x24” along Azalea Drive- this is a preliminary for a much larger commission.
Busy on the boardwalk this weekend-this one 16x20
