ETPD Nixle Alerts

The Evesham Police Department has partnered with the communications system, Nixle, to send directly to residents via email or text timely and valuable community information messages.

The Nixle Community Information Service allows the Evesham Police to create and deliver messages to subscribed residents instantly via cell phone text message and email. Notifications can also be accessed online at Nixle’s website, www.nixle.com.

There are no spam messages associated with the service, but standard text messaging rates do apply. Nixle builds on the foundations of other communication services such as X (Twitter-follow us at Evesham Police) and Facebook (follow us at Evesham Township Police).

The messages can be sent specifically to residents registered within a ¼ mile radius, giving them the opportunity to receive trustworthy information relevant only to their neighborhood. Subscribers can also choose the way in which alerts are received, whether it is by email, text message, or over the web.

Residents of Evesham and those in neighboring communities can immediately begin receiving pertinent information via text message, email, and web by registering at www.nixle.com.

**ETPD NEW PROGRAM: WALK AND WATCH

Walk and Watch encourages dog walkers to serve as extra eyes in their neighborhoods. Due to the large amount of dog walkers, this program is meant to encourage them to report all suspicious activities, persons, or vehicles to police.

This program will begin on June 1, 2024. We will be hosting a kick-off event at our dog park, where residents can sign up if they would like to join. Each resident that is a member of this program obtains a bandana with the Walk and Watch logo, along with the Police Department information.

We will provide light refreshments, snacks, and residents will be able to meet one of our ETPD K9s! All dogs are welcome!

Please join us to reminisce on the past as we host a Stickball Tournament. The Tournament will a double elimination style tournament hosted on Saturday, May 25th, 2024 from 3:00pm-7:00pm. We will play at the Marlton Middle School Parking lot. Registration is limited for both groups: 6th-8th grade and 9th-12th grade so register soon! A t-shirt will be provided to players. The purpose of the Junior Police Academy is to provide young citizens with an introduction to Law Enforcement. Our goal is to motivate young people to be outstanding citizens and empower them to act as a positive influence in our community. The academy provides an opportunity for officers and students to see each other as people, rather than as adversaries. It will also transform the traditional role of the police officer into a mentor and a friend, while encouraging our young citizens to be partners in building safer schools and communities. While the students that attend the academy may not want to become police officers in the future, the program instills a confidence and sense of achievement that will benefit them for years to come.

The Junior Police Academy will cover a multitude of topics including, Social Media, Bullying, Motor Vehicle Law, DWI Enforcement, Teens and Drug Use, Crime Scene and Evidentiary Processing, Active Shooter Scenarios, and a K-9 demonstration. We will begin each day with an hour of light physical training and military drill.

Applications will be available at the Evesham Township Police Department between the hours of 8:30AM – 5:00PM Monday through Friday. The applications will also be available online for download at www.eveshampd.org or via QR code on the flyer.

Completed applications must be turned into the police department in person. The due date will be two weeks prior to the academy start.

We will have two separate academy weeks. The first week will be held July 22-26 and the second week will be held August 5-9. The academy will be held from 8:00am to 3:30pm. Recruits are only permitted to attend one week of academy. Spots are limited to 20 per class and will be filled as the applications are submitted and approved by our staff.

There is no cost for the program, but all recruits must be accepted through the application process.
Qualifications / Requirements:
1. Must be a resident of Evesham Township
2. Must be in Middle School or going into Middle school in the fall (current 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th grade student)
3. Must be recommended by a sponsor (Principal / Guidance Department, Law Enforcement Agency, a community representative, coach, or religious leader.)
4. Must be in good academic standing
5. Must be able to participate in physical fitness activities (push-ups, sit-ups, light calisthenics, etc.)
6. Must be able to participate in a structured program
7. Have no criminal background or disciplinary problems which may preclude him/her from successful participation in the Academy
