Got leftover corn on the cob from this weekend’s festivities 🎆??
Don’t let them go to waste!! Here’s a great way to continue to enjoy your jersey corn this summer!
Cut the kernels off your cooked corn cobs (if not cooked, when finished gathering kernels, throw into a cast iron skillet with EVOO and toss til warm but don’t turn it into popcorn 🍿)
I usually do this on a baking sheet and then transfer all the kernels into a bowl. Hit it with some S&P and add any veggies you have — I like to use red onion 🧅 and cucumbers 🥒 for that crunch — maybe throw in some avocado 🥑! Add 3T apple cider vinegar and 3T EVOO give it all a stir and finish with some fresh basil! Voila!
That’s a good lookin plate right there! 🐷🥔🥬 (there isn’t a green beans emoji yet?!)

I feel like lettuce doesn’t get the love it deserves! Kale, iceberg, romaine, baby gem, Bibb, spinach, we could go on for days! 🥗

Lettuce has so many benefits! Bone health 💪, hydration 💧, improved vision 👀, && improved sleep 😴 just to name a few!

And talk about versatile! It’s not just for salads 🥙 we love lettuce in smoothies 🍌, soups 🥣, sandwiches 🥪, as a wrap instead of bread if we’re feeling healthy 🥕, the list goes on!

Cannot believe it’s been O N E year since we posted our launch video! The day I posted this was quite possibly the most outside-my-comfort-zone I’ve ever been in my life but if I’ve learned anything, doing something that scares you is a sure fire way to grow and I wouldn’t trade this wild ride of a year for anything! 💫

We’re big believers in all sauces and how they can really make or break a dish — cream based, white wine, marinara, pesto — we love them all!!🛸🥫

For our pork chop entree, we like to use a thinner cut to give the white wine sauce with shallots and rosemary the spotlight… and boy does it steal the show 🍾🥂

Toppings are KEY — we like to add some shredded lettuce (shredduce if you will), fresh tomatoes, guac, pickled red onions, corn, peppers, queso and salsa!

Ya can’t forget the margs! Our margs are pretty simple: 2oz tequila, 1oz fresh lime, 1/2 oz sweetener (big fans of agave over here), splash of triple sec or an orange liqueur if ya have it, not a big deal if ya don’t - SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE! Pour into a rocks glass over ice (we like a salted rim, but to each their own) and a lime wedge for a garnish — voila! 🍍

Let’s talk about ALLIUMS! Unfamiliar with the term? Allium is a genus of flowering plants that include hundreds of species including onion, garlic, scallion, shallot, leek & chive 🧅🧄

These little guys are staples in our kitchen from the base of a sauce to a finishing garnish; sautéed, blended, chopped or pickled — we love them any kind of way! 🌿

We’re firm believers that using garlic is more of a feeling and not so much a measurement so if a recipe calls for 2-3 cloves, you can bet we’ll add a few more just because we feel like it — and in your kitchen, we hope you feel free to do the same 🙃

Our pork chop in a [ white ] wine shallot pan sauce was such a hit we thought we’d bring it back this month as well!

Served with our favorite sautéed green beans with a little mixture of chopped herbs 🌿, lemon zest 🍋, garlic 🧄 && Parmesan cheese 🧀 to make veggies just a liiiiittle more exciting!

We like to round out our meals with a mixed green salad 🥗 and of course, dessert! — is it even dinner if there isn’t a cookie at the end 🍪?!

This S-U-P-E-R delicious spaghetti dinner is easy peasy AND takes less than 30 minutes to prepare 🤯

Shrimp 🍤

Heavy Cream 🥛&& heaps of parm 🧀

SALT YOUR PASTA WATER —
✨Pro tip 1: if you think you’ve added enough salt, throw in a little bit more.
✨Pro tip 2: when your pasta is just Al dente, dip a measuring cup to scoop out about a cup of pasta water to set aside for your sauce before draining the noodles

Throw butter in a pan, sauté asparagus, set aside
Add more butter to pan, sauté shrimp, set aside
Add MORE butter, sauté garlic, pour in heavy cream and stir stir stir while adding the parm — then everybody back in the pool! Mix together in the sauce, add a little pasta water and finish with a lil parsley (and more parm, obvs). Voila! Dinner is served!

This week we’re focusing on one of our favorite veggies that’s currently in season: ASPARAGUS!

We like to use asparagus in our dishes whenever possible! Here are some of our go-to’s:
〰️ prosciutto wrapped asparagus (great as an appetizer or side)
〰️ risotto with goat cheese and asparagus
〰️ shrimp, asparagus & farfalle in a garlic cream sauce
〰️ OR drizzled with some EVOO & S&P, roasted in the oven and served as a side of any entree!

Last night we dined at , a delightful restaurant in the heart of Rittenhouse with super quaint, low-lit, takes-you-back-to-1940s London, full-of-dark-little-nooks vibes where we feasted on quite possible every carb on the menu.

House made ricotta smothered on grilled sourdough, Welsh rarebit (took me back to many late night snacks at ), baby gem Caesar salad with so much Parmesan sprinkled on top you couldn’t see the lettuce (yes please 🧀), New England oysters with an OUT of this world cucumber mignonette (who knew?! .. they did 🥒), a pot of cider steamed mussels (we may have asked for a 2nd baguette 🥖 to slam dunk all that good broth at the bottom), and of course, a bucket of thick cut chips 🍟

I’ve been taking a class and made this pasta from scratch (2c AP flour, 1c semolina flour [ plus more for dredging ], 4 eggs) and it was a goddamn delight!

I will N O T lie to you, this lil pasta dish was a labor of love, kneading this dough was no joke 💪 and wearing a sweatshirt to class that day was a mistake 🥵

But the fruits of that labor was worth it when I tossed this fresh, dreamy pasta in an Alfredo sauce with lots of cracked black pepper (1c heavy cream, 1/4c butter, lots of parm — whisk whisk whisk)

These little really don’t photograph well but man oh man are they tasty!

I recently learned that not everyone knows about these pillow-y, coconut-y, cream cheese-y little delights — it’s a Philly area treat!

They’re super easy to make: in a standing mixer, combine unsalted butter, cream cheese, vanilla extract & a pinch of salt til smooth, add powdered sugar, followed by shredded coconut — roll into balls, throw them into the fridge on a sheet pan for ~ 30 min, take em out, roll with some cinnamon and mold them into little potatoes and voila! Treats are ready!

Two years ago during the very first week of the pandemic (😳) I made my first attempt at Irish Soda Bread — as a card carrying citizen of Ireland 🇮🇪
I felt it was time to give this tried-and-true a shot and let me tell ya, it was real tasty.

We know the traditional Irish meal of corned beef and cabbage is a go to for many on this day, but our tried and true will always be Guinness Stew with fresh Brown Bread right out of the oven (highly recommend smothering it with & washing it down with a pint of — not included 🙃).
