Happy Monday everyone, hope you all had a great weekend! Today we will be taking a look at two brand new gins to make their way into Canals Bottlestop. For you all today we have Watershed Gin from Catoctin Creek Distillery in Virginia, and Great Grey Gin from Jackson Hole Still Works in Wyoming. Two fantastic American made gins that are sure to be new staples to your liquor collection. Check out our tasting notes below and let us know in the comments which one you like the most!

Watershed Gin - Distilled from rye grain, with a secret recipe of herbs and spices, this gin is unlike any other. Amazingly complex, with a rye base that shines through subtle citrus and cinnamon notes, essences of fresh cut hay, and of course a crisp juniper character. Try it with the traditional tonic and a slice of lime (or a Meyer Lemon, for a real treat!). Or mix it into your favorite summertime refreshers.

Great Grey - A truly handcrafted, ultra small-batch spirit, distilled from Wyoming farmed grains. Happy Saturday everyone! For our Spirit Spotlight today we're going to be taking a look at Pueblo Viejo and their line of authentic tequilas with a rich history and the perfect balance of flavor and quality.

Reposado - A distinctive straw color, clean and transparent with golden hues. A distinct aroma of floral citric blossoms, caramel, butter and ripened fruits. The palate confirms the aromas of butter and ripe fruit; pepper and cinnamon flavors make it slightly specious and fruity.

Blanco - A clear and bright tequila with a bluish tinge. Due to slow cooking of the agave, the Blanco has an aroma of green apple, fruits and citrus notes. The taste is a smooth herbal flavor with fine citric touches. Palate confirms the caramel flavor of cooked agave and a rich blend of fruit flavors with a very pleasant long lasting end.

Anejo - A soft orange color that resembles a mild sunset. Strong aromas of vanilla, toasted almonds, chamomile , ripe orange and peach. On the palate you get the sweetness of oak, vanilla, dark chocolate, and roasted almonds. The finish is long with notes of dried fruit throughout.

Happy Friday everyone! Today we will be spotlighting Spoken West Winery and three of their wines in stock at the store today! Spoken West offers delicious wines made in California that embody the beauty of the West Coast at an affordable price. In stock at the store today we have Spoken West 2021 Chardonnay, 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon, and 2020 Pinot Noir! Make sure to check out our tasting notes below!

2021 Chardonnay - Golden straw in color. Nose full of ripe pear and peach, floral jasmine, and hints of vanilla and toast. Delicious mouthful of pear and liquid minerals. Finishes long and fat with notes of pineapple and citrus peel.

2020 Cabernet Sauvignon - Dark black cherry in color. A huge nose of cassis, blackberry, and dark red fruits with background notes of cinnamon, licorice and cigar box. Bold flavors of brambly dark red fruits, rhubarb, boysenberry and to***co. Way long finish of blackberry and fine French oak tannins.

2020 Pinot Noir - A gorgeous ruby color. Dense, expressive nose of baked black cherry pie, coffee, earthy forest floor and Asian spices. Medium to full-bodied flavors of ripe dark cherry, strawberry pie and bakers chocolate. Finishes long with hints of plum and just the right amount of acidity.

Sweet Gwendoline - A deliciously mischievous new world gin sourced and produced in the South of France and bottled in New Orleans. The brand design is based on the provocative artwork of John Willie and his greatest creation, "Sweet Gwendoline". Like its namesake, Sweet Gwendoline French Gin is sure to delight, bewitch and awaken the senses! Infused with Figue de Solliès and botanicals, including juniper, angelica seed, coriander, cardamom, sweet orange, lemon, and lime. A whip-cracking taste with a smooth, warm entry bursting with citrus and black pepper finish. Perfect in a dry martini. Pomagrana - Pomagrana is a rosé wine with aromas of pomegranates, strawberries and grapefruits on the nose, accompanied by a subtle spicy hue. 🍸TEQUILA SPOTLIGHT🍸

It's been too long since we've shared our newest products with you all and what better time than with some amazing tequilas to get your Saturday started off right! For you all today we have Arrete Blanco, Mala Vida Blanco and Reposado, and Granja Nómada Mezcal.

- Arette Blanco - Light fruit and agave up front followed by a peppery floral note and earthiness. Flavors of vanilla, cinnamon and a hot pepper blast. Made at the historic, "El Llano," distillery. Arette is one the few tequilas still made in the town of Tequila.

- Mala Vida Blanco - Owned by famous musician Alex Gonzalez, Mala Vida is a tequila full of personality and flavor. Reminiscent of the old-fashioned way of making tequila, with intense aromas and flavors, highlights of cooked agave, hints of citrus like grapefruit, and fruity notes like apple and cantaloupe. Spicy notes include clove and anise.

- Mala Vida Reposado - With all the intensity of oak, Mala Vida Reposado stands out for its balance and hints of cooked agave and fruit. Added vanilla and caramel bring out an intensity of the oak that you won't find anywhere else. With a lingering taste, an intense aroma, and a well-rounded and full body this Reposado is perfect when enjoyed by itself, as an aperitif, as a digestif, or mixed with juices, sparkling water, soft drinks, coffee lungo, or even espresso!

- Granja Nómada - It felt only right that we had to do at least one Mezcal with todays Tequila spotlight and we definitely picked a winner! Granja Nómada is a unique blend of the finest Espadin agave, hand-selected from the central valley in Oaxaca. An appealing fragrance and a rich taste that engages the palate. Floral forward notes, with light smokey notes that are subtle and further appreciated when coupled with the bright citrus finish. Serve neat in a snifter or extended glass to allow the Mezcal to awake, and fully appreciate the flavors and scents of a completely natural experience.

It's finally Friday and what better way to celebrate the start of the weekend than with another Spirit Spotlight. For you all today we have something a little different with Noces Royales Cognac & Pear Williams Liqueur. This French liqueur is noble, delicate, and a brilliant alliance of pear and Cognac. Fruity and vibrant aromas that meld into sweet and acidic flavors when tasting with strong pear notes on the finish . Noces Royales is best enjoyed neat after-dinner, on the rocks, or with Champagne as a variation to the Kir Royale. It can also be used in a range of more elaborate cocktails.

Rosa Duck Pet Nat - Peonies and rose mingle with melon and tart strawberry accents on the nose while the palate shows a red apple element slightly reminiscent of a dry cider along with salted watermelon, pomegranate and wet river stones. While light on the palate, the amount of sediment that contributes to its hazy appearance also adds some weight. Made from 30 year old vines. Not fined or filtered.

Edelzwicker Pet Nat - Another fantastic Pet Nat. Dry, effervescent and bursting with
flavors of wild apple, lemon and hints of orange blossom. Opens with a funky nose of sour beer and a hint of tropical fruit. Pair with fish tacos and mango habañero salsa for the perfect summer meal. For nearly 25 years Bloomer Creek has been producing innovative and quirky wines and Edelzwicker is exactly that!

Langmann Pet Nat - Fruity aromas characterized by tropical fruit, pear, flower, and hints of herbs. Ends with a little spice, an a touch of nut. It's fresh and crisp, with a creamy medium- bodied. Perfect when paired with seafood, shellfish, appetizers, or even enjoyable on its own as an aperitif.

John D. Taylor’s Velvet Falernum - A Rum-based liqueur indigenous to Barbados with a sweet, spicy, and almond character. Velvet Falernum adds weight and texture to classic rum and wine punches and is essential to many tiki drinks. It can also be used as a substitute for simple syrup due to its high sugar content and flavor. You can also splash a little Velvet Falernum on some berries for a quick dessert, or incorporate into coffee or iced tea for an exotic touch.

St. Agrestis Amaro - St. Agrestis has been featured on our page before during Dry January for their phony Negroni so it only felt right to bring them back and highlight one of their many alcoholic options. This Amaro is classic, complex, perfection and holds up to Montenegro, Nonino, and other popular options. A carefully crafted balance of spices and flavors comes through exceptionally well. Very herbal and clove centric notes. Can be enjoyed on its own over ice or mixed into your favorite cocktails like a Negroni

🍸SPIRIT SPOTLIGHT🍸

Taking a look at some of our staple gins here at Canals Bottlestop today for our Spirit Spotlight with Greenhook Ginsmiths Beach Plum Gin Liqueur and Mr. Finger's Alibi Gin. Two fantastic spirits that are sure to be the perfect base for all your summer cocktails this year!

Beach Plum Gin Liqueur - Greenhook Ginsmiths uses a unique distillation process with a 300-liter Copper Pot Still that works in a vacuum, which removes air pressure from the still. This allows the gin to be distilled at a drastically lower temperature which prevents the delicate aromas of the botanicals from becoming stewed by excessive heat. This unique distillation process combined with a unique fruit called Beach Plum results in a smooth and flavorful gin with notes of spice, rich tart, plum-cherry sweetness, and that classic gin botanicals. The end is crisp and somewhat dry with tart raspberry notes.

Alibi Gin - Seven times distilled with a corn base in small batches to produce a clean, refined gin. Alibi also includes 11 natural botanicals including Guatemalan cardamom and organic spearmint. Very floral aromas on the nose with hints of that Guatemalan cardamom and some tea-like spices. The palate is very unique - crisp, cool blasts of spearmint and cinnamon with that familiar juniper hiding in the background. Clean, bright, and refreshing!

Produced by the infamous Whispering Angel, The Beach is an expressive, refreshing, and playful rosé with a commitment to sustainability, beach preservation, and more!

Upon opening a bottle of The Beach you are immediately hit with clear and expressive aromas of red berries with hints of lime and melon. On the palate The Beach is subtle and smooth with a balanced acidity and minerality with delicious citrus and red fruit flavors. Happy Wednesday everyone! For today's Spirit Spotlight we're going to be taking a look at two more brand new products that arrived at the store TODAY! Introducing Torabhaig "Allt Gleann" Single Malt Scotch Whisky and Canerock Jamaican Rum! These two fantastic products are so to be a hit for any spirit connoisseur. Make sure to check out our descriptions below as we take a trip to Scotland and Jamaica today to find out what these spirits are all about!

ALLT GLEANN SINGLE MALT - Torabhaig is the first distillery to be built on isle of Skye off the northwest coast of Scotland in 190 years. Allt Gleann is the second expression of Torabhaig. Bottled in small batches drawn from no more than 30 casks each. Heavily peated single malt whisky aged in fist fill bourbon and refill whisky barrels. On the nose an ocean-influenced peat smoke with roasted vegetables, green grass, and seaweed. The palate is medium-bodied with a moderate burn on the tongue. This transitions into vanilla sweetness with pale malt, custard, and cream soda. The smoke and peat elements eventually come through with black pepper, anise, and black tea. The finish is long with the sweetness accompanied by peaty smoke.

Canerock Jamaican Rum - This spiced rum takes its inspiration from Jamaica's incomparable rum-making history, their rum's flavorful and remarkable character, and the island's love of spices. With patience, this recipe was slowly created to make the perfect spiced rum with a unique taste and we think they hit their mark! Canerock is made from traditional Jamaican rums infused with natural spices and aged in oak casks. Strong vanilla notes throughout with vanilla extract on the nose accompanied by marshmallow and baby powder. The palate is very similar with the vanilla extra carrying through with a bit of spicy pepper on the back end. Canerock finishes smooth and breezy. All in all this is a very vanilla-centric rum that absolutely begs to be mixed with a Coke.

Today we'll be taking a look at two brand new spirits to Canals Bottlestop that are sure to be huge hits! First we'll be taking a look at Boatyard Double Gin by . Situated on the banks of Lough Erne, County Fermanagh, North West Ireland, Boatyard has been the first legal distillery in Fermanagh since 1890. What makes Boatyard gin so unique is their unique distillation process of using a double contact method with the juniper and leaving 100% of all heads distilled in each run in the gin. Lastly we'll be looking at Amaro Nonino Riserva Quintessentia. From Nonino Distillery, Reserva Quntessentia is a Amaro liqueur naturally aged for 24 months in oak barriques and small casks. This unique liqueur is Antonio Nonino's original Amaro recipe dating back to 1933 now reimagined and enhanced for the modern day drinker! BOATYARD DOUBLE GIN - On the nose piney juniper is ever-present, followed by a light citrus and a mellow, sweet, herbal background. Peppery grain of paradise notes prickle around the nose, working to elevate the citrus and woody notes. When tasting you are immediately hit with lemon peel slapping the palate awake and readying it for an onslaught of earthy, piney juniper. The citrus continues its work, guiding spice throughout the mouth, aided by the tinglingly of the 46% ABV. Whilst fully flavoured, Boatyard Double Gin remains smooth and mouth-coating.

AMARO NONINO QUINTESSENTIA RISERVA - Balsamic aromas that balance the bitter notes of rhubarb, flamed orange and caramelized vanilla, with persistence and intensity. Soft citrus and mountain herbs on the palate. Perfect as a aperitif and goes extremely well with cheeses, cream based sweets like Tiramisù and chocolate!
