Our Vineland Medical Day Care kids prepared for the upcoming Summer Olympics! They learned about the different sports and traditions of the event, as well as participated in soccer, basketball, golf, softball, and track and field. They enjoyed receiving their gold medals, passing the Olympic torch, and cheering on team USA! 🇺🇸⚽️🏀🥎🏅

Our Pediatric Pain Rehabilitation program empowers patients and their families to overcome physical and stress-based limitations and return to a typical daily routine. Our primary goal is move your child from debilitating pain to full participation in school, leisure activities and sports. Through direct therapeutic interventions we work as a team to develop effective coping strategies so your child can get back to doing what they enjoy most. Virtua’s Pediatric Mobile Services will be rolling in to provide a variety of free services for children in our community! Stop by our Weisman Children’s Pennsauken location on Monday, June 17th from 9am-12pm.

Our Skills Week was a great success! Our inpatient team demonstrated exceptional collaboration with other departments, focusing on skill enhancement and training. They held valuable trainings such as car seat safety, diabetes education, wound care, bracing, and splinting, and respiratory care, among others. Thank you to the staff who led the trainings and to our team for always prioritizing patient care!

Blowing bubbles is one of our Speech-Language Pathologist, Kira's favorite activities to work on speech and communication skills. Communication is more than just speaking - look for eye contact, body positioning, and facial expressions, just to name a few! 🫧

🍗 You don’t often hear young children say, “mmm tastes like chicken.” Adults can try a new type of food and relate it’s taste and texture to something else, however, children often see something unidentified and it can take time for them to understand and accept the food as anything but unusual.

🍽 To help overcome your little one’s feeding fear hurdles, the Sensory Based Feeding Hierarchy Chart is used in feeding therapy as an activity to help introduce children to new foods, colors, textures, flavors and temperatures in a fun engaging way. This method encourages kids to use their senses with the overall goal to lessen their resistance in trying something unfamiliar.
