POSI
POSI was created to set a new direction in prosthetic services. At POSI, we strongly believe your cl
Longtime POSI patient Dennis, nickname around here DOD, has struggled wearing his bilateral AK prostheses due to spinal issues. After a recent surgery his surgeon gave him the clear to get up and get walking. With the help of Dennis was fitted bilaterally with the Össur PowerKnee and completed PT with Andrea Karp Varone an is getting around just fine.
Never to young to start one thinking about a career in prosthetics. Nick and Yuke Kee attended a career day at a local elementary school and shared information on the making of a prosthesis. The kids had an opportunity to have hands on experience and learn what it takes to be a prosthetist and technician. The kids made it a great day with lots of questions and willingness to interact.
The POSI team enjoys being with patients outside the clinic and the VA Eastern Amputee Golf Assoc (EAGA) Outing this past spring was a perfect venue.
Yuke Kee attends this event every year to lend a hand helping with the golfers and offer prosthetic support. It is great to see the comradery golf brings to the veterans.
Reminder, if your socket hurts it is probably not fitting properly and it is time for a check in with POSI. Maged, who is new to POSI, was fitted with a new socket within 4 visits, and in his words "the best socket fit he has ever had". POSI was his 3rd stop on the quest for a good socket, so thankful Kevin was able to get him comfortable so he could get back to work driving a school bus.
POSI patient Bonnie Lee living life at the 3M OPEN this past weekend. So great to see our patients out and enjoying life.
It has been quite some time since last post and lots has happened. Starting with June....Congratulations to POSI's awesome tech Nick Giordano on his marriage to Hailey. What a beautiful day it was and so thankful we could all be there on their special day.
POSI patients continue to amaze us! Nour climbed 327 steps up the Eiffel Tower during his visit to Paris with the help of a great fitting socket and the ProFlex Foot by Ossur Way to go Nour, great to see you living life!!
Many showed support of LLLDAM back in April, from service dog Mia, the awesome staff Kessler and of course the POSI crew.
April is Limb Loss & Limb Difference Awareness Month (LLLDAM). The supporting color is orange, Sarai Yuke Kee Ishikawa jumped right in to show her support!! Visit Amputee Coalition for details on how you can participate Nick Giordano
POSI patient Anthony, an above knee amputee, makes sure he pops in for prosthetic maintenance visits so he can keep living life and never miss his kids sporting events.
A very belated welcome to POSI's prosthetic resident, Aymen Hassanein. Aymen is from the Chicago area and received his Masters in O&P from Northwestern University. He will be at POSI for a total of 1 year learning from the best!! While on the east coast he has enjoyed spending time in NY, Philly and DC. Welcome Aymen, we are happy you are on the POSI team!! Sarai Yuke Kee Ishikawa Nick Giordano Kevin Towers
Sarai Yuke Kee Ishikawa Yuke Kee not only provides wonderful care for her patients, but she also gives back to the O&P field. She has been Director of POSI's Residency Program for the past 6 years and was recently appointed to the NJAAOP New Jersey Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists as a Director on the Board. The POSI team is so thankful for all you do Yuke Kee and proud to have you on the team.

Happy Friday from the POSI crew - Have A Fabulous Weekend!! Sarai Yuke Kee Ishikawa Nick Giordano Shuo Wang Kevin Barnes Pam Garstkiewicz Kevin Towers
What we do at POSI.....collaborate with our patients Rufus Graham to make cool properly fitting prosthetic sockets.
The #1 question we get from a new amputee, "how long before I can walk"? The answer varies depending on the level of amputation and if the prosthetic company has an in-house lab for fabrication. At POSI, after casting a patient, we turnaround the test socket in our lab within a week. is heading out in his test socket to check the fit before converting to the definitive.
A couple photos from Jacob's hike...God's Country
POSI patient Jacob, an above knee amputee, out for a hike. Hard to tell which leg right? That is due to an awesome fitting prosthesis made by Kevin Towers.
POSI's annual holiday party 2024, a little bowling competition @ Lucky Strike. Some of the POSI team have moved on, but the feeling is, once a POSI team member always a POSI team member!! We all love our POSI family!!
Call POSI to schedule your next appointment, just like a car your prosthesis needs a tune-up. Zac is sporting one of our new t-shirts, while here grab one for yourself.
Love to see our patients get back to work and thankful for employers to realize an amputee is a valued employee. It took some physical therapy for Will to feel 100% confident on his feet, but you can't stop him now!!
After a long road to recovery David was thrilled to get his above knee prosthesis so he could get back to living life. Driving was top priority, and being a right above knee amputee can be challenging, He had a left foot accelerator installed in his car which is working out great for him.
The incredible POSI lab techs, Nick and Ed, are having fun with some new colors for the sockets they make in the lab.
Steven Wallenburg was so excited to get his "neon green" prosthesis that he colored his hair to match. Love his enthusiasm!!
Team work is what POSI is all about and that team work includes patient participation. POSI patient Myron Kelley worked with Sarai Yuke Kee Ishikawa to get the perfectly fitting prosthesis which included a Rheo Knee and Vari-Flex EVO foot. POSI's awesome technician Nick worked his magic back in the lab thru all manufacturing steps, and finished up the prosthesis with this very cool design per Myron's request. Myron is starting PT and will be getting back to his pre-amputation quality of life in no time.
Having a little HALLOWEEN fun at POSI today. Dr. Xander, Katniss Everdeen-the "girl on fire" Sarai Yuke Kee Ishikawa from the Hunger Games and Aymen the Mad Scientist.

Medicare open enrollment is happening now until December 7th. New to Medicare, call Social Security @1-800-772-1213 or 1-800-633-4227 to start the process.
Already have Medicare, make sure it is traditional Medicare, the Red, White & Blue card.
"Beware" of those calls and ads for Medicare Advantage Plans , don't get "tricked", if it sounds to good to be true it probably is.🎃
Watching Lamont grow over the last 6 years has been such a pleasure. He and Yuke Kee Sarai Yuke Kee Ishikawa have that special patient/prosthetist bond which is so important in prosthetic care.
Lamont always picks out cool designs for his prostheses, maybe with a little help from his mom 😉
CAF and Össur have always stepped up to help him out with a running foot to be the kid he needs to be.
POSI patients showing their support for the Phila teams!! Sports fan John has 3 of the 5 teams covered. Great Philadelphia Spirit!! GO PHILLIES
It sure was a hot day for the CAF Ossur running clinic on Saturday, POSI's prosthetist Sarai Yuke Kee Ishikawa and patients Christy and Sean braved the heat and got some good exercise and enjoyed the day. Kessler PT's Andrea Karp Varone and Farris also attended and had time to chat with Dr. Bob Gailey.
Tri-State area amputees are in for a great event this summer. CAF, Össur and Dr. Bob Gailey will be in Philadelphia for a running clinic. If you have not had a chance to attend one of these events, please register, you won't want to miss the training and the camaraderie.

Kevin Barnes and Alternative Prosthetic Services knocked it out of the park with another custom silicone finger restoration for POSI's patient Miriam. In addition to visual symmetry, a finger prosthesis increases hand balance and may offer assistance to the other digits when performing simple tasks.
