Now that I've had a chance to go through the pictures and reflect on yesterday, I’m in awe of everyone who took part in the Marji. It was incredible to witness people of all ages pushing themselves to the limit. From elite athletes striving to finish at the top of their field, to parents riding alongside their kids, cheering them on as they achieved their goals – all while completing the same goals themselves. Then there were the athletes who rode through the night, pushing their endurance to the absolute max to finish the race. I was brought to tears at the finish line more than once.

An extra special shout-out to two of my amazing friends, Meredith and Kalyn, who came to keep me company along the way while I was following the incredible Liz Sabin. And, of course, congratulations again, , on your first place finish for women in the Marji50—you are truly an inspiration.

Hey there Marji participants. Well, tomorrow is the day you’ve been planning for, training for, dreaming about and even dreading!

Today you’ll make your final preparations. Tonight you’ll try to sleep while anticipating what’s to come. Take some time to look in the mirror and be proud of who you are and what it has taken to get here! Look into the mirror and know you are ready, that you can do this!

Todd and Danny have made this event and course TOUGH, of that there is no doubt. We want you all to show them that YOU are tougher, that YOU are stronger. YOU’VE GOT THIS!

So whether your goal is to just finish, to improve your time or to get that buckle, we believe in you and look forward to seeing you at the finish!!

The white stuff has returned and so have I. After a fun weekend in Minneapolis for AAU, I’m back at the office. Stay safe today.

A kind gesture for the kindest man.

Our friend and neighbor Dave Kero passed away on 2.25.23 after being struck by a vehicle on a group ride in Arizona. Dave was a local. A regular on group rides. His relentless smile and kindness could not be denied. He was always willing to help or offer words of encouragement. Dave was truly one of the folks who make the U.P. and our community someplace special. Local riders asked us to retire Dave's last Marji Gesick number. We connected with the family and asked for their blessing. They said yes.

Today... MG number 694 will join plates 1, 2, and 517 as our daily reminders. Life is fleeting. Nothing is guaranteed. Tomorrow may not come. We have today. Right now. This moment. What can we do with it? Get ready for September and show up for those who can't.

I am currently stuck out of town with my youngest daughter and her French classmates and cannot make it into the office today. I have sent texts to cancel with everyone. Please stay safe out there.

With the impending storm combined with traveling home from Chicago today, the possibility of not being able to be in the office tomorrow is likely. If you are scheduled tomorrow and I end up needing to cancel, I will keep everyone updated as quickly as possible. Stay safe.

Currently out of the office for two days having a blast in Chicago for my youngest daughter’s French class field trip. I’ll be back in the office (weather pending) on Thursday.
