Good news, I just heard there's a new sauna business in town!!

Sauna on Kuuma A mobile public sauna, now operating in Marquette, Michigan. Book a public or private sauna session with Sauna on Kuuma and enjoy a wood-fired sauna experience that will leave you feeling relaxed, renewed, and ridiculously awesome. Currently located at the base of Marquette Mountain Resort.

Believe me, nobody is more heartbroken about this place closing than I am. It was a very tough decision and a long time coming. Once the remodeling of the residence is complete, and the building is finally conforming and functional, we can consider putting it on the market again and someone else can give it a go.

I'll remain closed through the weekend due to illness and snow, but I'll plan on taking appointments again on Monday... only for about 2 weeks, though. It's time for us to prepare for the remodeling project before the baby comes! So, get yourself one last sweat in the next 2 weeks, because that's it for us. It's been swell, thanks!

Don't panic, we're not closed for good yet! My brother is getting married tomorrow, so we're closed until Monday.

I have happy news and sad news...

The happy news: we are expecting our 3rd child!!!

The sad news: we absolutely cannot fit another body in this tiny living space! This means we will either have to sell the sauna house and move, OR remodel the building to create more bedrooms and living space. Either way, this is likely to be the final sauna season at Second Street Sauna. The end of an era. 😢
This business has been open since 1926, and although I don't want to see it close for good, the fact is that it doesn't turn a profit. We can't feasibly keep running as a novelty business, especially while raising 3 kids in the 2-bdrm living quarters. It is unlikely that anyone would buy a business that can't provide an income and keep it open to the community, but we will try to find someone who wants to carry on this legacy. Please reach out if you're in the market for a quirky old hobby house! It is a FANTASTIC location!
