I had a great time this last weekend with Pimento at the Sharon Camarillo Classic!
It was nice to have some time with Pim to just hang out. Shows can usually be a big rush and a bit stressful but with only competing once a day over the course of the weekend it left a lot of time for Pim and I to spend together to figure out what really works best for the both of us!
We braved some crazy heat! Don’t worry Pimento was absolutely spoiled the whole time with misters and a fan. It was a learning curve in all aspects for sure! Huge shoutout to my sponsors Team Equine and The Posh Ponies as well as all the sponsors for the event who made it possible!

We took the horses for a great trailer out lesson to Point Pinole over the weekend! We even had an impromptu despooking activity not realizing there was a race going on! Rosie and Pimento did great and weren’t even phased by any of it! It’s pretty incredible to know we live so close to such amazing views! ✨
🌸Happy Mothers Day to all the mamas out there! 🌸
I had a great Mother’s Day event for my Sunday lessons. My students took on my role for the day and taught their moms how to ride! It was so much fun and absolutely hilarious watching them try and explain how to do it!
I also got to work with my favorite mother daughter duo preparing for the next show!
I ended the day taking my mom for a trail ride on Jack! So grateful for such awesome horses!
Wishing all the moms and those who have taken on those roles a very Happy Mothers Day! 🌺
I had a great weekend taking some of my students to their first 4H show!!! All of the horses and girls did a great job, and I am so extremely proud of each of them for all the hard work that they have put in. The girls came home with some fancy ribbons to show for it too! 🤩
Our first Champion buckle in Division 1 for Spring Stampede this last weekend! This horse literally gives me his absolute best every time I ride him, and I am so beyond grateful for that. We had some really great runs and some schooling runs to work on, but overall super proud! Thanks for my gymkhana family for always being so extremely supportive. I love you all!
The first picture was taken this weekend and the second picture was taken three years ago when Pim and I won our first first place prize in Division 7. Same location and happend to be wearing the same shirt. A lot has happened in three years! 🥰
Shoutout to my sponsors:

🌊Beach Day🌊
So grateful for all the rain we have had, but definitely nice to start going out on some adventures again! I got to bring my sister along for the ride this time for some much needed sister time to take the horses to the beach! Life doesn’t get much better than these kind of moments!

💎 I switched out my cowgirl boots for the day! 💎
Went to test the waters doing some fun jumps with Pimento this weekend! I can’t explain how happy I was with how he did! We are finally meshing a bit better with the jumps and he seems like he is really starting to enjoy it! I love trying new challenges with horses that keeps us and them learning!
And don’t worry cowgirl boots are back on and getting dusted off to chase some barrels at our first show of the season next weekend!

Behind every buckle there is a vast amount of work and dedication that goes into it that isn't always seen. It is so much more than just a buckle.
It represents the payoff of all the early mornings and the late nights spent practicing.
It represents putting in the work on the days when it's pouring rain and freezing cold out.
It represents the long show days in the scorching heat of the summer.
It represents the persistence of our whole team who helped us get here, people and horses included.
It represents the ongoing determination to keep going when we have multiple setbacks in a row.
It is so much MORE than just a buckle!

Thank you Gina and Brian Pepper for another incredible year and for these incredible buckles!

⭐Dream Bigger⭐
That is what this picture reminds me of. I remember being a young little cowgirl being amazed watching the Division 1 riders compete. It seemed to be such an impossible goal at the time to get to that level. If our goals sound crazy or borderline impossible that clarifies we are on the right track! Don’t settle for goals that are easily obtainable. Chase after goals that push us to become better, force us to work harder, or even seem unimaginable! Pushing ourselves farther than we think we can advance shows us our true capabilities, and the goals that seemed impossible become standard.
P.S. In this picture Pimento and I just finished our run getting first in Division 1 at the California State Championships for this event. My smile tells it all!
Vegas Update!!!
Pimento and I are competing at the All in Barrel Race in Vegas this week! I am so beyond proud of us! We ran a 15.966, 16.016, and a 16.742 which won us some money and qualifies us for the showdown race tomorrow!
I'm excited to announce that I have Heather Wright Horsemanship sweatshirts for preorder! If anyone is interested in preordering a sweatshirt let me know what your size is and I will be putting an order in on December 4th. I will make sure they come in time for Christmas! I am wearing an adult small for reference and I feel they are true to size! I went through a bunch of different designs and different styles to come to this one and I am totally in love with it! 💙💙💙
I came across this quote in a book I had read a few years ago. It was a great reminder for me recently to slow down my mind and enjoy the moment when it comes to competition. There are so many times when it comes to competing that my mind starts to go in a million different directions. This quote is a great reminder to me of why I do what I do. Through all the hard work that goes into this I remind myself of that little girl and how she would be so proud of where I am now! 🦋
She brings so much joy to my day! 🌻 Thanks Katie Polley and Jessica Coffee for making this happen for her!
We had a great week at C.S.H.A. State Championships this last week! Pimento and I took Reserve in Division 1. Tyler took 9th in Division 5 on Rosie and Itzel won some money in the Ira Sullivan Jackpot on her as well! Niki got Reserve Champion in Division 7 on Flecka as well as Brian winning a buckle on her as well! So proud of everyone! This has truly been a great year!

We had a busy last few days! I got first on Pimento in Division 2 at this last show and we got a new personal best time on Big T with a 17.454. We are still working on our Skill event, but we will get there!
Niki got first in Division 7 and bumped up to Division 6. Tyler and Itzel rocked it on miss Rosie! One of my lessons Rachel also got to participate in her first show in lead line. She definitely had the biggest smile and best pageant wave around!
We won some beautiful conchos from The Posh Ponies. If anyone is interested in some conchos go check her page out! She has some great stuff!
Also rocked our Team Equine Saddle pads this weekend! If anyone is interested in any of their products you can use my code HWH30 to get 30% off. The product I use right now and that I have had a lot of success with is their select a fit pad that has interchangeable shims!

I have to say this is the best way to enjoy a morning hot chocolate after some barrel practice!
Pimento and I working on some archery this morning! 🏹
These girls did amazing at the show today! All of them placing first in their divisions winning some awesome belt buckle holders.
Niki and Brian did great with this dynamic duo. Pimento and Flecka have a bit of a crush on each other as well as you can tell!
Lots to still work on in this video, but I have the absolute best cheerleaders around! Take a listen and make sure your volume is up for some cuteness overload!
