✨ Happy Pretrial, Probation, and Parole Supervision Week!
Today the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors declared July 21-27 as Pretrial, Probation, and Parole Supervision week.
We celebrate the incredible professionals whose unwavering dedication breaks cycles, provides second chances, and transforms lives. We're grateful for their commitment to building safer, more hopeful futures for our communities.
✨ Supervising the Teen Brain: Train the Trainers Course.
The Contra Costa County Probation Department identified key staff to become trainers on effective strategies for interacting and supervising youth.
Through the department’s partnership with Strategies for Youth – a renowned national policy and training organization dedicated to ensuring best outcomes for youth interacting with law enforcement – our officers participated in a 4-day Train-the-Trainer course which is based on research of adolescent brain development, and developed a course to equip officers with knowledge and skills that are trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate, and racially equitable.
The Probation Department is proud to take part in this effort to train local law enforcement on increasing positive interactions with young people by building officer capacity and knowledge and linking them to key youth-serving resources.
Thank you to Strategies for Youth for this amazing course!
We are pleased to announce that the Probation Department has officially moved into the County Administration Building B in Martinez, CA, centrally located for the convenience of our community and clients.
This modern facility will streamline our Pre-Trial services, offering greater accessibility and efficiency for those we serve. Our new location underscores our commitment to providing the highest quality support and resources to individuals and families in need.
We look forward to continuing our work in this state-of-the-art environment and enhancing our service delivery to the community.
We’re devastated by the loss of Vacaville Police Department officer Matthew Bowen. We send our condolences to the Bowen family, the community of Vacaville, and all those affected by this tragedy.

✨ May is Mental Health Awareness Month. We celebrated by talking about new ideas and impact with our partner in mental health, Talkspace, for the first anniversary of our partnership.
✨ Getting access to a professional therapist can be challenging, whether it be being put on a waitlist, traveling to them, or finding one you feel comfortable with.
✨ Talkspace helps ease that challenge by meeting clients wherever they are in life, providing online therapy and hiring professional therapist that reflect the client population
✨ We’re committed to rehabilitation and providing accessible resources, care, and support. We cherish our partnership with Talkspace
