Just reading a newsletter from fellow KW agent, Gabriele Orbell and she had some beneficial tips for those thinking about selling their home. I thought I'd share with y'all.
1. Focus on curb appeal. Powerwashing, some landscaping sweat equity and paint touch ups may intrigue potential buyers.
2. Declutter and clean. Most of keep our homes neat and clean but occasionally, clutter can take over. During showings, it is helpful to de-personalize a bit and tidying up can go a long way.
3. Have an exit plan. When a showing is scheduled, have a plan for children and securing pets and a place to go during your time away.
4. Know your next steps. Knowing the unusually challenging market in today's real estate, it may be most suitable to have a plan B should your home sell quickly. Storage units, staying with relatives and et al. become critical if a new home isn't available at the time of closing.
5. Prepare for costs. Repairs, upgrades, commissions and closing costs should be budgeted. These things may be discussed, with your Keller Williams agent during the initial stages of the marketing process.
