“Movement should be approached like life—with enthusiasm, joy and gratitude—for movement is life, and life is movement, and we get out of it what we put into it,” –Ron Fletcher. Challenge yourself to think about movement as a way of connecting to the world around you, rather than a chore to be done. How will you embrace movement today? Tell us below! ⬇️
It’s #EatingDisordersAwarenessWeek! To kick us off for a great week, Dr. Elizabeth Mariutto shares how embracing a non-diet approach can help you build a healthier relationship with food and your body! 🤗 Unlike traditional methods that obsess over weight loss and unsafe food restriction, non-diet approaches focus on physical and psychological well-being as an indicator of health, not the scale. Conversation for HOPE – What is Trauma?
"Trauma isn't what happens to us, it's our reaction to the things that happen to us," Sidney Hays, MSW, LISW, DARTT, Outpatient Therapist at Lindner Center of HOPE.
Contrary to common belief, trauma is not confined to reactions triggered solely by scary, or life-threatening events. It encompasses any stressor that overwhelms us, where we don't have the time or resources to process the event and return to a place of safety and connection.
