I’m so horrified by what I watched on the tv show 48 HOURS this past week, that I have to share this news. I hope that you will, too.

You may think that it is safe to go to AA to get the help that you need with your addiction. You may feel like you are safe to go there and air your problems….that you are with others like you who just have a drinking problem. A narcotic addiction. No. You actually are not safe to do so. Not only that, AA is aware of the problems, and yet they will not change their policy nor will they compensate the murdered victims families. AA states that they not feel like it’s their job to keep you safe, but to treat addiction. I want to keep you safe.

The 48 Hours show brought up that a lady who participated in AA meetings, who was murdered by another AA participant. She dated him, thinking that they had a lot in common. AA feels like they are not responsible for what their members reveal, and don’t reveal. And what is not necessarily revealed is who is coming there, and why. What you don’t know, and what AA doesn’t feel obligated to tell you, is that the judicial system sees that there is a problem. Prisons and jails are often too full for the criminals who don’t belong in with murderers and serious offenders. So, the judicial system then makes it mandatory for drug addicts, alcoholics, sellers of narcotics, to attend AA. Articles are being written on how these male prisoners admit to wanting to date women who attend meetings. If not date, unknowingly follow attendees home after a meeting. Why? They are vulnerable. Gullible. Trusting. Frail. Co-dependent. They can be r***d when they are passed out. Slip GHB in your drink. Rob you. Worse yet, kidnap or murder you. Which Is exactly what happened to the murdered victim. It was brought to the attention of AA, that If the victim knew that her date was a criminal, she would not have socialized with him, and still be alive.

This question was brought up during the show. Why isn’t it mandatory that prisoners there have to reveal themselves, or that prisoners be seperated into having their own meetings and thus, are not dangers to the general public? AA replied because that would be segretory, and it would violate the prisoners rights. To me, AA protecting criminals, and not the innocents? This is just as heinous as the crimes committed by the criminals. Please. Be careful. Knowledge is powerful. It might save your life, or a loved ones.

I try not to be political, but in this case, the crime statistics don’t lie…

Troopers have learned of a new sophisticated scam and want the public to be aware. New York State Police in Oneonta recently discovered that an unknown suspect stole the identity of a property owner in Otsego County. That unknown suspect then forged a New Jersey Driver’s License and attempted to sell the property through a local relator. Luckily the suspect ran into a snafu because the deed had additional owners on it, and it raised some red flags and stalled the sale. That’s when the realtor became suspicious and learned that the actual owner had no clue that someone was trying to sell his property. Due to the diligence of the realtor, no sale was made and no money was lost. If you believe that you may be a victim or know of anyone that is part of this scam, contact your nearest law enforcement agency as this may be part of a much larger scam.
