The health center continues its quest to ensure that all female patients 40 and over schedule an annual mammogram screening. Early detection has been proven to be the best form of prevention.

Project Background – National Preparedness Month Campaign (September 2020)
Due to the current pandemic, the MA. Dept. of Public Health is looking to rebrand and reframe their “Know Plan Prepare” campaign. The preparedness campaign warns people to be prepared for natural, weather and health emergencies. Thanks to The Kraft Center for Community Health at MGH and Boston Healthcare for the Homeless, our MCHC pediatrics team is on the move! This summer, Dr. Laura Livaditis and nurse Kellen Martins are bringing pediatric care to MCHC patients in the CareZONE van. Children from birth through age 4 who live within Boston City limits are eligible for a visit in our mobile clinic. Pagu Restaurant, one of the restaurants who are part of the movement, has provided Mattapan Community Health Center with hot meals for essential workers who must go into work during the COVID-19 pandemic. Staff were treated to three different pasta dishes. Thanks to Pagu and all the restaurants for their support of front line workers.
In honor of World Health Day MCHC is doing its part to help during the COVID-19 pandemic, by making sorely needed, life protecting, face-masks.
