Pottery, great food, company & mindfulness tools, to build a life you want with more connection & joy
Get ready for our upcoming retreat in Lake Norman this fall!
Relax, play, and laugh.
If you're a woman professional, you might relate to being caught up using your energy caring for others and neglecting many of your own needs. You find yourself exhausted. You might feel guilt when you decide to take care of yourself. But this pace can't go on forever. Take this chance to rejuvenate and explore. Let's connect, sharing tools and techniques to navigate through stress and burnout.
Check-in with yourself and your wellness. What actions are you taking that are benefitting or negatively impacting your health? What boundaries are you setting to take care of yourself? Let yourself reflect on your actions and how they're affecting you. What is a change you can make for your wellness?
A testimony from Elisa on our 2024 Art & Soul Retreat in Portugal.
We had an amazing time. was wonderful to work with and was always ready for an adventure. Thank you so much for your testimonial.
If you're a women professional navigating through burnout and stress, then Silver Spaces is for you. It's the healing space where art, mindfulness, food, & community meet. We work so hard taking care of others that we can forget to take care of ourselves. In our retreats, we give you the space and tools to relax, explore, create, and so much more. We practice meditative, mindful, and CBT techniques, along with exploring goals of self-compassion, creativity, productivity, self-advocacy, and empathy. Earn CME in a way that you actually enjoy. Remember the "...the heart feeds itself first."
Closing this week with a reminder to reflect on your "why." Our "why" motivates us, it gives us meaning and places intention behind our actions. As you're doing a task, ask yourself "why am I doing this?" Maybe when you're taking care of yourself, your "why" is to fill your cup and to make sure your well-being is. What is a "why" behind an action you do?
Using patterns in our ceramic pieces. There are different techniques to do this whether etching it with a carving tool or transferring it by printing a pre-made pattern on it. Just look how beautiful it turned out.
Try this refreshing dessert: tapioca pudding with coconut milk, lychee, and pear cactus fruit. Perfect for this hot weather. Let us know if you try it below.
Throwback to past local retreats. Sharing food, stories, and reflections with these amazing women.
Beginning this week with a quote,
"Each time you meet an old emotional pattern with presence, your awakening to truth can deepen."
- Tara Brach
Old habits may include ignoring our needs and never saying no to taking out our anger on our loved ones. We might not always realize our habits when they occur, but each time we meet them with presence, we're able to be more and more mindful of what is happening. Doing so, we can slowly awaken to the truth- learning to rewrite these patterns and change the narrative.
So why Lake Norman in October? Why not the summer? While Lake Norman is popular in the summer, locals love it in the fall when temperatures are perfect- not too hot and not too cold.
It's the perfect time for a getaway that will give you the space to relax, laugh, connect, and simply be.
Although we talk about preventing burnout and promoting well-being, what factors are leading to physician burnout? There's a number of factors that contribute to physician burnout including too many hours at work, having a lack of respect from your colleagues, and feeling a lack of autonomy over your life. Identifying and learning what is leading to burnout within ourselves can help us advocate for ourselves.
Tea and cookies from our local session with Moroccan cuisines. A calming way to end the evening with mindfulness. Finding ways to ground yourself can be as simple as a hot cup of tea. Relax and letting yourself be in the moment. This evening, take a deep breath and find a simple way to give yourself space to relax.
Some self-love journal prompts to help begin the week. What do you love about yourself and how can you show yourself more love? Carry these reflections with you throughout the week and remind your self-worthiness.

As we get to the end of the week, remember to give yourself a pat on the back. Be your biggest cheerleader! Remember to affirm yourself and show yourself kindness. The way we speak about ourselves can influences how we feel about ourselves. It influences our self-esteem, self-confidence, and well-being. So, remind yourself that you got this!
A chapter in what I have labeled in journal, "The After Party." The after party consists of adventures with and when we traveled around Portugal together after the retreat. This is the three of us having a picnic near Evora during this splendid Jeep - Cork & Wine Tour. It was an incredible beginning to our after party adventures!!!!
A simple and refreshing recipe of the week, carrot ginger salad! A salad perfect for this summer with sunflower seeds, microgreens, and more. Let us know below if you try it out.
This gorgeous piece was made by clearly a natural. She was so wonderful to work with on this retreat. Always a smile. Ready for any adventure and her ease into the clay. Just look at the piece. Flow.

Sharing some tile painting from our retreat in Portugal and give more insight into the art we did together. This was meant to be a morning activity. It was led by my friend Celia. Celia is a local artisan that owns in town.
She has this wonderful store, and, in the back, she offers tile painting classes. Firstly, her own wits are incredible and be seen all over as she is commissioned by the locals and the town for her talents. But secondly and more importantly for us, she is an amazing teacher with a friendly. She has this wonderful store, and, in the back, she offers tile painting classes. But secondly and more importantly for us, she is an amazing teacher with a friendly, welcoming spirit.
Everyone was mesmerized by the act of drawing and painting the tiles. What started out as a two-hour activity turned into several more. They left for brunch and came back for more. Cecilia graciously welcomed our company. It was a great day!!!
What patterns are you noticing in your life? Observing these patterns can let us know our triggers, stories, and the ways these affect our actions. As we learn this, we can take a hold of our narrative and rewrite the story we're telling ourselves. Take some time to journal with these journal prompts.
Riding the wave is an easy way to remember acceptance. It's like urge-surfing, imagine the waves are the urges and we are the surfboard. Learning to ride the wave is letting ourselves ride what was happening by simply observing and accepting what is going on. You can try this on an urge such as taking out your temper on someone to resisting the notification on your phone. Or maybe it's a negative thought that keeps coming to our brain. We can simply observe it without acting on it.
Silver Spaces is the place where art, mindfulness, food, & community meet. It's a place to relax, eat, and heal. As we eat, we can wind down and enjoy our time together. It's in that time, where we create connections, bond, and laugh. A different cuisine is given each session to help us explore new sensations and memories. What foods give you a sense of nostalgia or joy?
Recipe of the week, mango sticky rice! A delicious, sweet, and refreshing dessert for this summer. Loved serving this at our local retreats. Let us know how it goes
Taking time for yourself can be as simple as letting yourself sit down and savor each bite. Catch yourself today when you're eating and see little ways to implement mindfulness.

A quote to begin the week,
"Everything that has a beginning has an end. Make your peace with that all will be well."
- John Kornfield
In life, we can remember impermanence or the idea that everything, no matter how good or how bad, will eventually come to an end. When we can accept this is when we can find peace. We're able to withstand change and challenges.
What is something that you're grateful for? What act of service have you given or have received that have made you happy? Maybe it's receiving from or being given coffee in the morning. It's a reminder of the love and appreciation we have for each other. As the quote goes, "There is no remedy for love but to love more." – Henry David Thoreau
"
Going through the week and as we go from task to task, it's important to take time for ourselves. Self-care can look different from person to person. Maybe it's finding joy though artwork, having a run in the park, or hanging out with family or friends. It might be self-affirmations in the morning, deep breaths, or making sure that you're checking on your health with a doctor. Reflect on what self-care means and looks like for you.
Hope everyone had a wonderful week so far. Another little photo from our retreat in Portugal. Such an amazing time in Olhão and so grateful for the lovely women who were a part of it. More retreats to come for the rest of the year! Let us know where you'd want to go next.
